I may have to give this a try. Pull fuse #4 from under the hood (fuel pump) and try to start it. If it doesn't start then try to put the fuse back in to make sure it will start again. :)

Down and dirty theft measure but the price is nice. Great for leaving it at the airport if needed.

That is the use case I was thinking. Overnight or multiday stays in a lot. I know others who put a kill switch in but then will have to reprogram all their settings.

We have our 22 F150 and our 22 Expedition in the driveway. Truck thefts in our area are high, zero crime besides that.

I use one of those anti key copying boxes to store our keys in the house and our driveway is 200' long, parking at the bottom so less of a sitting duck vs a few feet from the street.

We are soon leaving on a family vacation where.out Expedition will be sitting in ybe Airport lot for days. I'll be pulling the fuse for the fuel pump during that time.

I've also seen an OBD2 port lock. Can't get it off without your key or shearing it off, leaving the truck semi useless.

Some good ideas mentioned here. I've worked in law enforcement for a while now and the absolute most common vehicle theft is that of opportunity. Leaving keys in the vehicle and leaving a spare key in your family members other vehicle (which is actually common for some reason). Someone comes along to simply check a door handle or pop a window to grab a bag they see inside and then notice the keys and decide to up the crime. The other common method is the signal relay device creating a bridge between your key fob and the truck (a faraday bag will stop this from happening). There are other devices criminals use to plug into the OBD2 port and create a "new key" almost instantly, then shortly after they are able to disable tracking as well. These guys are obviously more advanced and are usually looking for a specific make and model that their higher ups have put in a request for, usually to be shipped overseas. There's a poor guy in the city I work in that has had his TRX stolen 3 times this year, but its been recovered the same day every time because he has a "reviver" plate, which is trackable. They're very expensive for what they are, but I guess its worked out for him.

I just hide an apple airtag in my truck and leave it locked up with nothing inside. If mine gets stolen for any length of time, I don't really want it back anyways.

Vehicle theft and break-ins are both problems. For the latter I avoid having anything visible inside the cab and when traveling I use a "pet bridge" that attaches to the headrests and blocks the view of anything below it.

I had a truck broken into while parked at a state beach. The sheriff deputies told me that thieves watched for women leaving a vehicle and not taking a purse. They would then expect to find a purse and be able to steal credit cards and so break into the vehicle.

If living in a high vehicle theft area I would go to the expense of having a keyed fuel cut-off switch installed by a local auto electrics shop. My prior truck lacked a tailgate lock and I had a local shop install an aftermarket lock so whenever I locked the cab the tailgate was also locked.

In terms of finding your stolen vehicle there is the option of adding one of the continuous GPS trackers that show in real-time where the vehicle is located and tracks all activity. One simple one is the Bouncie that plugs into a USB port on the vehicle and so it would be easy to install or to remove and use in a different vehicle.

Another idea is to toss your key fobs into the microwave at home or in a hotel room. Effectively it is a Farraday cage.

#1 cause of vehicle thefts are owners not paying attention to security.
The other LEO that posted up above was bang on. You'd be surprised how often a truck gets stolen because someone leaves their keys in the truck, unlocked, for convenience. You'd also be surprised how much they will go out of their way to blame everyone and everything when it gets stolen.

If you turn off location on your phone, the ford pass app will show the location of your truck.. for whatever reason, the map location in ford pass defaults to the phones location if it is available, but will pull the actual truck location if the truck has a cell connection and your phone GPS location is off

Mine always shows the actual truck location by nearest address.

Horse Thieves have always been and will always be shot on my property. Colorado had nation leading car theft problem until very recently.

Especially in shitty weather.

But... it's a small price to pay IMO for the comfort of knowing that your truck will be exactly where you left it when you get back.

HAHA. I have a Wolfdog who rides in my back seat..She's sweet but looks intimidating. Wouldn't want to see what she would do if someone messed with one of HER trucks...

She sleeps in your truck at 2am?

Well, no. But if its not too hot she goes everywhere with me and is a deterrent if I run into a store or come across a carjacker...

2023 F150 3.5
Hi everyone!.
Just bought 23 F150 3.5 Lariat of the lot for a very good price.
Did some research and went and install IGLA Pin security system.
here is the IGLA website. I think they are based out of St Petersburg Russia, but sell systems from Slovenia.
This video shows it installed on well equipped 2023 Tremor.

Pretty cool idea to use wheel buttons as a pin code.
System is not cheap $1200 installed. All dealers charge the same.
So main security is PIN code, then you have an App where you can click deactivate and truck will start normal as long as the phone in the truck. It also comes with 2 valet key fobs. If those are whiny 30 ft then you can start the truck without pin.
Got it installed, picked my sequence and the issues started.
The car would start same as the video but then the break light comes on, some other quick error messaged too, the auto lights will not come on. Truck went into some weird limp mode.
Spent some time with installer calling support, then he reached to other installers and they advised him to use valet fobs.
At this point I was not having it. What is the point then in that system?
Say I am getting carjacked, the guys take the keys and drive away.
Say I have it on my driveway and since IGLA works within 30 feet they scan the codes and drive the truck away.
And if those fobs called valet fobs - how does it make any sense using those as your main input for the system.
I had to ask installer pull it out. Really wanted it but not ready to deal with issues and drive 40 minutes to trouble shoot.
Not sure if it is an issue with the system or it was installed incorrectly.
Did anyone else have it installed? What is your package? Does it work properly? Who installed it?
