Extremely loud electrical POP followed by loud static

I'll jump in... 2022 KR powerboost... Same problem as others at startup. Anyone ever get anything useful back from Ford? Doesn't look like it.

Had it happen today, my fiance & my ears are still ringing and she is scared to get in my truck now (it happened as she closed her door) ?

Yea I talked to Ford chat and they said to try these two things.
I haven’t tried either as I don’t think this will resolve but y’all are welcome to try.

I've had this happen to me twice now. Last time I had to shut off the truck and exit the vehicle for several minutes to get it to stop. Now I think one of the rear speakers is blown. It has a terrible rattle all the time now. Not really happy about this and am not sure how to proceed. Guess I'll give the dealer a call and see what they say.

Update: I called my dealer, Bluebonnet Ford in New Braunfels Texas, and was advised that I'd have to do the truck off. It'll take 4-5 days just for them to look at it, and they have no loaners.

If and when mine does this, I'm not going to waste my time with the dealership. At least not until just one person, anywhere on any forum or YouTube channel or social media site........ at least hints at what might be the cause/remedy. I mean, wouldn't it be a waste of time and effort?

Of course you can't win the lottery if you don't buy a ticket. So I probably shouldn't want everyone to go along with my thinking.

I'm surprised as significant as this issue potentially could be that nothing has surfaced yet.

Based on what I've read about this issue the only way this is going to get addressed is if everyone that has this issue starts reporting it to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. The dealerships can't do anything about it until Ford issues a TSB or a recall.

Is there any common pattern to this issue? Has it only affected folks who have Apple Car Play enabled? I'm running Android Auto and have not experienced this issue (knock on wood...).

I can’t believe Ford isn’t doing anything at all!! I honestly don’t remember the exact timing of when the POP happened and what was “playing”. I got in the truck and pushed start and BAM! I can’t recall if it was playing music on CarPlay or through Sirius but usually it’s on CarPlay. I do know that there had been times before it happened that when I started the truck sound only played on one side of the truck until I would change the radio settings (from radio to CarPlay or the other way around). Not sure if that’s related. Also, I was wondering if it’s tied to that Ford chime that always is buggy when you start the truck? It doesn’t always sound “right”. I don’t know; I’m not a tech but I just hope I never experience this again!

Mine happened with Android Auto. Current procedure is when/if it happens, switch to AM/FM. Several people who have tried this say the sound stops, and then when you switch back everyone works as it should. I don't believe this has worked for everyone, but it leads me to believe the issue has to do with a digital signal

I want so bad for that to be more than them just saying what the customer wants to hear.
Please ask for a copy of the work order if they choose not to provide you a copy?

This has happened to me twice so far in the last 3 days! Upon entering the vehicle I hear a loud pop from the speakers and then it begins to blast at max volume intermittent static minutes later.

2022 Ford Powerboost with B&O unleashed here. Just experienced this issue a few minutes ago and was searching to see if this was unique to me or if it was more widespread. I’m disappointed to hear it’s not resolved yet. Truck is still under 1000 miles.

System was tuned to satellite radio when it occurred. I was also wondering if a fuse was going to need to be pulled, but I found that the noise stopped when I changed it from satellite to FM radio.

Going to add my voice to FMC support and hopefully they’ll realize this is a bigger issue than they did when this post was first made.

Please keep us all posted on what you find out. They reached out to me, wanted the dealer to experience the problem. It obviously isnt going to happen at the dealer. Left at dealer 9 days couldnt come up with a reason. Also have not heard back from Ford recently, they still act like they don't read this chat room or admit there is even a problem at this point. Bit of advice you wont get anywhere thru Ford Customer Service gal I talked with was very Rude.
