I have a 2012 F150. It just started doing this. Turning it off. Opening door and waiting a couple minutes brings back Sync and audio. I don’t trust my dealership at all. Long story. I wonder if a non ford shop could help me?
Is the fix expensive if you are out of warranty?
Your issue has to be different from this one. Your truck has a completely different system and most likely has an analog amp and not a DSP like in the trucks that experienced this. I am not sure what is causing the issue in your case.

There was a DSP update released months ago that is supposed to address this. It is available OTA, but for whatever reason, it was never aggressively pushed out to vehicles. Your dealer can apply it, though. Have your dealer refer to the attached SSM from Ford from September of last year.

I have had both the loud tick and squeal issue as well as the static from all speakers. Both times I had to stop my truck and disconnect the battery to get it to stop.

Was there ever a solution for this? This just happened to me with my 1 yr old, 4 yr old and wife in the car. The popping and static was incredibly loud and really scared everyone in the car, especially my autistic 4 yr old. Thankfully I found this thread which led me to pull the fuse for the amp so I could at least get my kids back home safely. My ears are still ringing two hours later so I imagine it’s worse for the kids. I believe my truck is up to date with all the updates as it seems like the updates happened in 2023 and it’s currently 2025. My truck is a 22 platinum with the b&o unlleashed. It happens with radio on/off/carplay/fm. The only way to stop it was to shut the car off. Pulling the fuse to the amp

stopped the noise.

I think you can tell from this 20 page thread that the phenomenon popped up and was widespread enough to generate the relative content. But at some point it quieted down considerably. Eventually falling pretty much off the radar.

At this point I imagine most trucks are running on software that addressed the issue. Is your truck older and not updated?

Thanks for the response. Ford customer service checked for any updates on the truck and they said I was up to date. Vehicle is regularly maintained at the dealer. It’s a 22 platinum with 51k miles. I’m afraid that the update may have not resolved the issue. Sound is working normal after I plugged the fuse back in this morning. Fingers crossed that it doesn’t happen again.
