Hey will ford send a reminder before the basic warranty expires? I plan to purchase the extended warranty before it expires, if I keep it beyond that.

I don't think Ford will cover a 03 Chevy S10....

You can get it now because it starts the day the truck was first delivered. It's call In Service Date. Just do the math.....

#of miles/year × # of years of planned ownership = term of ESP & MILEAGE

So, that is the flim flam on extended warranty. The call it a 5 year warranty but it is just two added years at $1000/yr. ( or how ever the numbers play out)

Pretty much... but if you're only adding 2 years... not worth it. Truck has a 5yr,60k power traln anyway.. It's more for guys like me that only put 6000 miles a year on our trucks. I went with a 10yr/100k mile Esp, at that time it was $3300 Cdn. So warranty cost is $471.00 per year. Less than $40 a month. Cheap maintenance cost.

Yea, I have 93k miles on a KRPB I bought in June ‘21. I always get to the miles way before the time.

My 2023 bumper to bumper expires this week. Which company have you found that is the best coverage for the money?

I barely do 2kmi / year on the truck. Probably more after I retire and tow the track car around. Got it last used year (2022 Lariat 502A w/3.5 Eco) w/36kmi.

I typically do 100% work myself. Slightly concerned about potential warranty issues so I will use all Ford products (oil & filters). Am very concerned about all the electronics on the truck. Have never considered an extended warranty in the past.

I just got a mailing for Ford Protect (no prices listed) but am considering it. Is that provided by Ford & dealerships? Can I go to any dealership? Will it be a battle over things they'll find that aren't covered by the extended warranty? Is Ford National Premium Care ESP something different than Ford Protect?

Thanks!

You are not required to use Ford oil and filters to maintain the warranty. Yes, Ford Protect is the same. Get it from Flood or Granger. It is national and can be bought and/or used at any Ford dealer.

Just purchased one from Zeigler Online. They had the best pricing for me. Just had to have the truck inspected at a Ford Dealer and send them the inspection as I was slightly outside the 3/36.

Use Promo Code 75 for $75 off the plan with payment plan, or PAYINFULL for $275 off if you pay the whole plan upfront.

I think Ford's quality has improved as the gen 14 has matured and there will be many gen 14 F150s that never need more than routine maintenance. At the same time, there is a reason that the F150 doesn't rate very high in terms of quality from more than one reputable source, and Ford's CEO continues to state that quality is something Ford must improve. I love my truck and plan to keep it through the extended warranty period, but it has already had a few issues that have been corrected and were likely costly. If one non-trivial issue occurs during the extended warranty, it will easily pay for itself. I bought my truck from Granger, so getting the extended warranty from them was seamless, and reasonably priced. I will be pleasantly surprised if my transmission isn't replaced during my ownership just because it seems a little quirky.

We also own a 1.5 year old, paid-for Lexus that we purchased new, so we don't have to carry comprehensive insurance on it. My wife is also an excellent driver. I still carry comprehensive insurance because I would rather have the insurance assume take that risk even though it may turn out that we were throwing that money away.
