My last 3 new ford's. The dealer matched or beat zeiglers quote
My dealer, Long Lewis Ford in Muscle Shoals Al would not. When he tried to sell it to me I mentioned Grainger. He pushed back from his desk and immediately got mad. Obviously he had heard of them! Said he did not know how they sold it at those prices and that he could not. I may buy through Grainger but I don’t like how the purchase shows up in Ford Pass as HVAC repair.

HVAC repair? I have a Granger Ford ESP that I bought last summer and it doesn’t show up under maintenance, at all. First I’ve heard of that.

Bought from Granger but initially wanted to give warrant money to the local economy. Dealer One wanted $3800 plus 8.75% tax with absolutely no negotiation. Dealer Two came a lot closer at $2800 plus sales tax (about $250) but kept insisting I watch out for Granger as if they were doing something criminal.

Granger final cost $2485, 10/100 with lights, $200 deductible, no sales tax. It's great peace of mind.

When I bought my 2014, I had a quote in hand and decided to give my selling dealer a chance to meet it. The fool just laughed at me. His loss, my gain.

I’ve never had one, but I have been on two all expenses paid vacations to Mexico, financed by people that do have them. My lady friend sells them at the dealership she works at, and sells a lot of them, so thank you, all.

I do some work for a gentleman and he buys several Chevy trucks a year. He’s never bought one for any of his trucks, and claims it would have been a waste of money, as he’s never needed one. And these are Chevy’s.

I am aware it’s a gamble. But I’ll just assume that a lot more is paid in to them than paid out by them, Mexican vacations an’all.

Had one for $700 on a CRV. It paid off on a replaced rear wiper motor and AC condenser, total cost would have been $1400.

$4700 is robbery. I went with Grainger for the only extended warranty I ever purchased and got a great $0 deductible Premium packge deal on my 22 Screw 4x4 Lariat with all the extras for 25% of what the dealer wanted who was aghast and would not match the cost. WHY to be silent in F&I office when doing paperwork. That is where the Real thievery goes on.

It's just like gambling. First of all, use one of the Ford dealers listed above, because they r reasonably priced. Second, if U sell the truck U can cancel the warranty and receive a prorated refund. If U are more concerned about avoiding a big ($1,500++) out of expense than U r about Ford making a reasonable profit on the warranty, buy the warranty. It U want to gamble and self insure , then don't buy the warranty. Ideally, if U self insure, it would be great to put aside some money (eg $50-$100) every month in case U have a big repair,,, but who does that ???? :)

When it was more of a buyer's market, I heard that some dealers would make more on selling extended warranties than the dealers would make on selling the truck. :)

Agreed but my 3rd party (Route66) was pretty reasonable on my 2014. They have been great to work with and dealership has had no issues with them. Hell...they will reimburse me for covered part even though I will be doing the fix. I did put Ford ESP on my 2022.

im only at 25k mileage now, just got a mailer from Ford and called ford direct for a quote on Premium 8yr/100k $100 deduct. plan, $3300....went to GraingerFord online $2000 for the exact same Ford plan. Seeing issues with the DRL going dead, the cost of a radio/screen, transmissions... the plan would cover EITHER of these not to mention the rest of anything else. Well worth the just in case coverage.
