  1. Any way to see gears without pressing the + button

I agree with a lot of the concerns over some of the changes that require attention every time U drive, especially when we tow. But overall, I believe that the 2024 Updates were a real improvement. We traded our 2022 Toyota Tundra because of its engine recall. And we are real happy with our...
  2. Michelin Defender LTX MS2 or BFG Trail Terrain T/A or Bridgestone Dueler A/T Ascent??

U didn’t have the BFG Trail Terrains a long time ago, because they are relatively new tire. I agree some of the older BFGs did not hold up well. But the new Trail Terrains are an excellent choice.
  3. Dealer Used Wrong Oil

They left the oil and filter on the back floor board. I will drive 4-5,000 miles and then use their Mobil 1. Walmart sells the 12 quart “boxed” oil and also the motorcraft filter, so it works out good having the dealer do the oil changes, check fluids / filters and rotate the tires.
  4. Dealer Used Wrong Oil

Picked up my F150 3.5 eb after oil change and dealer used Ford’s 5w30 blend. I had brought Mobil 1 5W30 full syn which I have been using,, but the tech messed up and used their blend oil. Should I be concerned? Or should I just wait for 4-5,000 miles and then use the oil Mobil 1?
  5. Michelin Defender LTX MS2 or BFG Trail Terrain T/A or Bridgestone Dueler A/T Ascent??

That;s what I like about the BFG Trail Terrains. We have them (18s) on our 4Runner now and will look at them when our F150 needs tires. The TTs have better looks but they still seem to be quiet, ride smoothly and the gas mileage appears to be the same as street tires.
  6. Payload Capacity: C'mon, is it REALLY Important?

    I graduated Robert E Lee H.S. 69, UT 75. I heard about U East Texas Cowboys! :)
  7. Payload Capacity: C'mon, is it REALLY Important?

U grew up in a different world in the Piney Woods of East Texas. People were lean , mean and drank their Lone Star, Pearl LIght, and falstaff whilst driving (no open container law back then) with a Marlboro hanging out of their sunburned lips and headed to the local barbecue shack for a snack...
  8. Payload Capacity: C'mon, is it REALLY Important?

The problem is that there is probably 0 safety margin because of the formulas used to calculate payload. The formula uses 150 lbs. per person and for a family of four with two small children that may be OK. But how often have U seen 4 adults that average 150 lbs per person? This is America...
  9. Max haul package ride difference vs standard tow package

I have a 2024 F150 XLT, 302a, 4x4 FX4 with tow package, no max tow, Bilstein 5100s on the rear, 3.55 . My towing lbs 10400 , Payload 1800 lbs. I am picking up a new Travel Trailer, 4800 lbs dry , 7000 GVW, tandem axles, 475 lbs hitch weight. I am probably...
  10. Show us what your F-150 tows

I have a 2024 F150 3.5 eb, tow package, 11000 lbs towing , 1800 lbs payload. How do U think my truck would do towing 20rb?
  11. Max haul package ride difference vs standard tow package

Howdy, I own a 2024 F150 cc, FX4 , 3.5 eb,,, added Bilstein 5100 rear shocks, standard tow pkg. Would I get some benefit adding a leaf?
  12. Rear Shock time...again

Ditto from me. I also upgraded to 5100s about a year ago,, tow a 5500 lb travel trailer quite a lot . I noticed a big difference over the stock “Off Road” FX 4 shocks… the rear end stopped bouncing around and towing was also better.
  13. Confused: can I tow 7700lbs?

I think that is Ur best decision. It sounds like Ur dealer is not reliable and did not really care about selling U a truck that meets Ur needs. I have dealt with dealers that knew far less about towing than I did. Even with a properly equipped truck that meets Ur towing spec requirements...
  14. am I the only one with piss poor mpg

I tow a Lance 1685, 5500 lbs loaded with approx 475 hitch weight, with 2024 F150 3.5 eb. I usually get 9-11 mgg towing with 9, 10 (sometimes 8 also) locked out. I recently switched to K & N air filter and that raised my in town mpg from about 15 to about 17,,, but I have not towed with the new...
  15. RV Toy hauler - 7500 lbs trailer weight with my 2022 Powerboost

I have the 3.5 eb in my F150. Having a top notch WDH , (e.g. Blue Ox is what I have) helps keep the tail from wagging the Dog :), the F150 Tow Package really helps with its engine breaking going down hill. And I also always lock out 9 and 10 (sometimes 8 also) when towing our TT. Towing in...
  16. Anyone change their own oil?

I compromise. I buy Mobil 1 full synthetic premium at Walmart , 12 quart bag. And then pay dealer $40 to change oil, rotate tires and inspect. Every 5,000 miles. 2024 F150 3.5 eb ,, tow a trailer a lot during the summer including some high altitude.
  17. Michelin Defender LTX MS2 or BFG Trail Terrain T/A or Bridgestone Dueler A/T Ascent??

The Trail Terrains are relatively new, U must be talking about older BFGs, which I agree were not very good. We have the Trail Terrains on our 4Runnet and they r great on mileage and work like light duty KO2s. I will consider them when the Wranglers wear out. I don’t know about 20 inch wheels...
  18. Axle Recommendations for a 2025 Lariat?

I have 2024 F150 XLT , tow/haul, 3.55 electronic locking axle. We tow a 5500 lb tandem axle travel trailer into the mountains during the summer. FYI, we follow the advice of putting it it Tow mode and locking out gears 9 and 10 and this keeps the engine and Tranny from running too hot. Our...
  19. Look of 1"-1.5" front lift with OEM tires

How is the ride after putting Bilstein 5100s set at 1.5" and removing rear blocks? I put the rear 5100s on and think that they are great.
  20. No-drill Mud Flaps - recommendations?

I also bought Husky,,, real easy to put on and I seem to remember that they were a lot cheaper than Weather Tech and also had much better reviews than WT. Truck stays clean .
