ECU module programming guide using FDRS

I figured it out, I didn't "register" the device because....who ever does? Didn't know that was a requirement for it to work.

All good now, I've updated like 3 modules in the last 24 hours. My battery maintainer is only 2 amps so the voltage kept dropping to scary levels...ordered the Clore CL-whatever and it should come tomorrow....just have to repurchase the $120 license.

Does anyone know how the 48 Hours are counted? Because I purchased the subscription LESS than 48 hours ago and now I'm getting a "User Authorization Failed" message. Is Ford stealing my time too?

I was wondering same thing. I purchased 2 day Thursday night. Its still on today. I also got the same error message this morning but now I'm able to log on fine. FDRS is historically glitch on Sundays as ford does server maintenance. Keep trying .

Things changed at the beginning of Oct ‘25 when the price went up to $120 from $50. Before that you got two days, plus til midnight. So for example, say you bought it Monday at 1300. You got it until Weds evening at midnight (~59 hrs). I haven’t heard yet whether it’s the same or exactly 48 hrs now. I’ve asked a few who’ve purchased the new two day subscription but no firm answer yet. Hoping someone confirms how it works now.

Sundays have always been spotty as was said, with their server maintenance.

Just logged on to FDRS and my 2-day license I purchased on Thursday afternoon is still active on Monday morning. I'm not sure how they calculate the time now.

Only a few statistics gathered so far, but @rugedraw, it seems that if people are on APIMs earlier than 22293 and they have APIM updates showing, they get as far as 22293 and hit the wall

Anyone else have issues getting the sync update to pop up on screen after inserting the usb drive? I followed all the instructions on FDRS for the update. I formatted the usb to EXFAT, and when I insert it into the vehicle usb slot, nothing pops up. Have waited quite a long time and nothing…

Picked up a 2 day today and can't log in. Been messing with this for a couple of hours. Looking for ideas. Been on hold endlessly with the Rotunda number listening to hold music.

Currently using 45.6.8, tried 5.8 but it asks for the key which I don't have. I can't get past login; enter name/password and get blank page with "the requested url was not found" ... Have uninstalled/reinstalled, installed CFR, tried login on edge and then run FDRS, with browser open/close, I cannot get this thing to go. Firewall on/off. Reset password (without resetting password). Rebooted/reinstalled over and over. Ideas??

One guy today on the Facebook group had to create a whole new account and transfer the license over to it to be able to get in.

I have not used the new system yet, but I think you no longer need to wait for a code. The license it tied to your motorcraft login and not a license key anymore.

Yup, once you purchase your subscription you can log in to FDRS. It all links in the background.

If I connect my mongoose cable to my truck and laptop, then open FDRS will it then take me to the correct place to buy the subscription? Also, is there any reason not to use my Ford pass details?

Subscription instructions here. Purchase subscription first, then go to FDRS and log in.

The same login & password for the subscription and FDRS.
