Damn Ford raising prices again. Thank those Russian pirates for reverse engineering their software to build Forscan. Yes, it is made by Russians, and yes it's actually a reverse engineer of IDS.

There is no way to explain it to them. They need to contact Ford TAC (Technical Assistance Team) so they can verify the corrupted partition in the APIM and either fix it (if they can) or authorize another replacement of the APIM. If your truck is with them now, leave it until next week so I can tell my contact it is there and maybe he can get involved in your case directly. Your service advisor and technician (as good as they may be) are not software engineers and do not have the tools and resources TAC has. They will not be able to verify this without the hotline's assistance.

Understood. They don’t have my truck right now. And as far as Ford knows my software issues are fixed ( since I thought they were after I finished updating the apim from 21146 to 22087) just seems like a never ending software issue with this thing at this point. I’m not currently experiencing the issues with battery drain and the alarm but it certainly sucks that my truck won’t update anymore.

Tried that a few times, still the same error. Also tried switching wifi networks and tethered to my phone, still get the same error. If I hit the "network diagnostics" button, everything passes. I also tried the "Non-Dealer ETIS" in the dropdown options and get an authentication error there too. 🤷‍♂️
Did you reboot?

You have to be logged in to your Motorcraftservice.com acct on the computer in a separate window as you try logging in to FDRS.

Also you have to have pre purchased the subscription on the above website too before FDRS login.

Also on Sundays it has always been a crapshoot because they do server maintenance on Sundays and with them changing the way we buy the subscription two days ago I suspect it is even more messed up today (this Sunday).

Ghurst, things on the FDRS site changed yesterday. Really, none of us know exactly how the new login goes. It could be finicky before, God only knows now. It would often not work on Sunday as they did maintenance. If I were you, I’d wait a week or two before I bought the now $120 two day subscription and let Ford figure out their servers which have to sync with your new subscription and maybe by then people will have tried the login and there‘ll be new gouge on how to do it. Otherwise, if you decide to take the plunge, please post how it went as we don’t know yet exactly. We need some “guinea pigs” to try it.
I've already detailed how all this works. It's very simple. Create a Motorcraft Service account, download FDRS rev ending in .6.8, purchase the diagnostic subscription and you're all set. I've had no issues with FDRS since this changeover, just took a minute to figure it out since the work instructions were missing a step from Ford.

No you don't. Just open FDRS and log in with your credentials as normal. Only with GM's SPS do you need to have the browser open.

Every combination of uninstall/reinstall/reboot/standing on head/tongue to the left/tongue to the right/full moon/different laptop/different day/etc....
What version of FDRS are you using?

Also, what sort of connection do you have? None of these cloud diagnostic services work well with some service provider firewalls so you may need to look in that direction if you have one.

The .6.8 version.

Tried to look into the firewall options but didn't find anything obvious on the computer settings and I even disabled the firewall with no change.

Home internet is T-Mobile and phone is T-Mobile so it's pointing to something through their service that I need to investigate.

Yea that might be your problem. We tried TMobile's wireless home internet early this year and it wouldn't work with our streaming TV service because of how they assign IPs.

Took my laptop to work that has cable Internet but I still get the same red error message:

User authentication has failed.

??exception.authorization.failed_en_us??

If the issue persists call Ford customer service

Network test shows all "Pass".

B177y you have an active subscription, right? I couldn’t log in with a similar error until I bought the subscription license from the website.

That is the missing link and the cause of my merry-go-round.

I haven't dropped the $120 because I can't log in, but I can't log in until I drop $120.

My assumption was that successfully logging in on FDRS would then take me to the subscription page or verify if I had a valid subscription before going further. Not being able to log on to FDRS with just a weird cryptic error message as the result kept me away and made me think I had some sort of problem.

Something like "you need a valid subscription to continue" after logging in would make more sense, but I shouldn't be surprised as this is Ford software.
