Yep. Updates were rolling along pretty quick and easy until this one popped up. Below is the pop up message I was receiving. I have not tried anything else at this point since it popped up either.

So what the heck is this new way to login to FDRS? I bought the Ford Diagnostic Subscription which is now what you need to access FDRS. But FDRS still wants an activation code before doing anything. Anyone running into this?


Edit to expand a little more. The old way of purchasing the $50 2 day license key is no more. You have to buy something called a Ford Diagnostic Subscription for $120 now for 2 days. I've been trying for a couple of hours now to get ahold of Ford to see how I'm supposed to use this to get into FDRS. No help so far.

Ugh. I see that too. This is what I just saw when I logged on to helm to attempt to buy an FDRS 2-day license:

Any FDRS purchase link I click on in my MotorcraftService.com account leads me to Helminc which doesn’t sell licenses anymore and gives message above. Nice job Ford with this new method implementation.

edit: seems like they updated the website to link to the new subscription page shortly after I posted above, so I’ll give them a tiny credit.

Yes it’s now $120. You just need to download the .6.8 version and it prompts you to enter your username/password from Motorcraft service to go through subscription route. Worked fine just a PITA because it’s not indicated in the work instructions provided by Ford.

I was able to buy a $50 license using the 45.5.8 version last Saturday. Unless they changed something between now and then? I bought the $50 license from helm, copied the license key and pasted it into FDRS and it worked just fine.

Edit: Shit.....looks like they changed it. $120 for two days? So what does the year cost now? If we cross multiple and divide like they taught me in grade school, that's $2,160.

If the issue persists..."

I would try to uninstall FDRS, restart laptop and reinstall FDRS to see if that helps.
