Quick question about upgrading from 20301: will the USB that I created from FDRS for my truck work in another truck also on 20301, or is the USB drive "keyed" to a VIN when FDRS creates it? I have some friends that I want to help out, and it would be nice if I could just give them my USB for a few weeks to get them "over the hump" and then only buy one 2-day FDRS license after the truck finally decides to upgrade from USB.
No it will not, the manifest is keyed to your Vin number a new disk will need to be made.

Now all that is left is to test it with a seatbelt on and the trailer hitch assist enabled. I reached out to the hitch assist guys but still haven’t heard back if they were wearing their seatbelt or not. It was long enough ago they may not remember.
The auto hitch part is interesting. I recently updated to the lastest Sync and did the Forscan changes for BC 1.4. Just after this I decided to activate auto hitch and as soon as I put in the IPMA change
To enable auto hitch:

IPMA 706-01-01

xxxx xx5x xx--

I got the lane change warning. Changed it back and the warning immediately went away. Have left auto hitch deactivated.

Interesting... I had auto hitch totally nuked and disabled in trying to figure out the LC disabled while a trailer is connected deal. I never turned it back on but through some OTAs it magically enabled itself again and is now still on. I wonder if it being enabled triggers something else.

Now wondering if it happens also if the passengers take off their seatbelts
I wondered the exact same also yesterday, I kind of doubt it would but knowing Ford who knows. Imagine one of your passengers taking their belt off all a sudden and then BC kicks out right away, not exactly ideal but it does that on its own already. I imagine someone will be able to find out here soon enough.

Is there any chance that any of/all of you were not wearing a seatbelt when you were having your Blue Cruise and/or Lane Centering issues before you rolled back?

@superfordman was having the issue and realized if he connected his seatbelt it started working again. No visual alerts telling him it needed to be connected. I personally never wear mine.

Trying to figure out if this might be something or is possibly another dead end.
Didnt have my seatbelt on when using the centering lane option

We have determined that was the issue with 100% confidence. The new firmware will only allow BC/ lane centering when you are wearing it

FYI an additional note unless yall were already aware. I got the BC 1.4 OTA update today (IPMA-24.20410.9) so I jumped on forscan to check the strategy and it is BBC. I updated all modules over thanksgiving via FDRS and got ACJ then wrote the BC 1.4 changes via forscan but now I am on BBC via OTA. Checked the as built differences and there are only changes in the “homography” sensor coding section of the IPMA. The update also knocked out my trailer side view and cameras at speed changes forscan changes. But those might have been too recent to have been backed up to the mothership hard drive for my truck. I will have to take it for a drive and see if I can feel a difference but I doubt it will be noticeable.

TLDR: BC 1.4 OTA update is BBC.

Evening gents, doing a round of updates this weekend and down to tcu update. Can anyone give me a rough idea of how long this particular update takes on average? I just need to time this out with my pass expiring tomorrow evening and knowing I have things to get done in the afternoon I don’t wanna get stuck with a four hour update. Also, is this a USB update? Thanks guys. Been working with rugedraw and he saved the day on a pscm brick.

Quick question- jumped into fdrs today and am at an ipma update, says my soc is below 70% but I have a power supply hooked up and sitting at 13.6v. Am I safe to continue or will the low soc hinder me? Thanks in advance

I personally like to make sure my battery is fully charged before beginning any updates. Especially a update that takes 3+ hours to complete. Charge your battery then do the update while using a charger with power supply mode. You will save yourself a headache later.

Toddy-v, I did mine yesterday and it said 56% soc. Knowing I had a tender on I went through with it and had no issues. Can’t hurt to top off charge though. Turn off lights as well that will help conserve power. Will be a long update for sure. 3 hours between ipma and pscm modules.
