ECU module programming guide using FDRS

Maybe some confusion Javier, I did have a BCMC update to do which worked, but like everyone else I can't do the BCM due to the extra security login?

Ah ok. Never mind. I thought it was a typo. I've never had an update released for that module that I can remember.

Just had the most recent BCM and the two door modules done at the dealer because the handle lock wasn’t working. They updated the HVAC too. So far it all works well. Enabled Walk Away Lock too since mines a 2024.

Asked the service tech as to why there was a password for the BCM. He said Ford has added some new security measures recently. Not sure what this means for people using FDRS at home.

I just did the BCM, both doors, and the driver seat updates, 21' Lariat PB 502 and I have no issues. Did not need a password but I can log in to FDRS differently so maybe that is why.

If you have a dealer or Ford employee login, you won't have the BCM issue.

Ok so I created a free account with nastf and now 5 days later still cant login to nastf to get this BCM module update working, come on ford- love how it says non-dealer users of FDRS must be automotive professionals that are registered with the nastf registry. what am I doing wrong??or is ford f'ed up again?? JUst looking around on nastf do I have to spend 425 to get registered with this site just to use fdrs bs??

I would just wait for it to come in OTA like the rest of us.
No reason to jump through hoops trying to get regulated credentials.

Here's my truck crying about the front camera last week. However this week, it's another camera weeping crocodile tears. This is why I don't even check the codes on my truck any more. lol Unless something is wrong, I don't even look at this.

You don't even want to see the codes my truck throws!! Kinda stupid to be blunt.

So I did all the updates available in FDRS, but am waiting on the dreaded APIM-USB update to kick in. I have a 2021 that I don't believe has ever been updated, it has no version in the about SYNC screen and my update buttons are grayed out. I have read a lot on this thread about this problem but was wondering if there have been any new revelations on how to get the APIM update started?

So just a quick post about this. I left the USB stick plugged in and honestly forgot about it until I was driving down the road and noticed the updated had finally taken affect. This was back in May I believe. Roughly 5ish months of waiting. Now I noticed the other day I received the Powerup 2.6.0 OTA update. I’m sure I’m still behind on updates but at least it looks promising for now.

Rugedraw can check for you in the VIN lookup thread if things seem off. You might get everything OTA, but chances are it will take forever with the rate Ford sends old updates. You get the good features in the 4.x updates and those often fail OTA even on trucks that are normally fine.

tried offline mode like suggested and got no change. I know my internet is good because i verified.
Interestingly, my truck is a 2022 not a 2021.

The first thing I would try is restarting the laptop. The second thing is to completely delete FDRS and do a fresh install.

I should have asked sooner but does it matter that my truck has the roush supercharger kit on it? I know it caused some issues with forscan.

I'm not sure. I would just avoid and PCM updates it shows once you get it running.

Hopefully someone else can chime in then. The FORScan issues you had also indicated a problem with not recognizing the VIN?
