First time user here. Having issues after having installed FDRS, driver for mongoose cable, and have the license key. When I try to login I get user authentication failure. Says first time launching fdrs you must be online. I am online. Is it referring to connection with my truck?

Still having issues logging into FDRS. Have license showing active, still giving me this message. Tried uninstalling FDRS and reinstalling from ford site. Still no luck. And I do use my user id , just shows removed in the picture. Any other tips?

You are not signing in as the right kind of user. Use Independent Operator/Non-Dealer NOT Non-Dealer ETIS.

I tried that as well, but keeps exiting out when trying sign in. FDRS will then exit out and nothing else happens.

That is the correct user type. Reboot your computer and try again. Use the email and password you use for ford.com and FordPass. Give the log in screen a couple of seconds to process.

Thanks. Yeah I just rebooted my laptop thinking it maybe was acting up. And yes, I’m using my email and password I use for my ford pass app. And just confirmed it on ford. So I’ll see if it works once rebooted. Thanks for the help

If it's still acting up, grab a screenshot that shows the entire screen. The icons on the bottom right are meaningful.

  1. uninstall FDRS
  2. reboot computer
  3. download and save FDRS from here https://www.motorcraftservice.com/diagnostic/Support?channelId=50&categoryId=276
  4. once the download is complete100%, do not open the file.
  5. go to your DOWNLOADS folder and right click on FDRS 38.5.7 then select Run As Administrator to start the installation.
  6. go to www.motorcraftservice.com using MS Edge browser and login. then minimize the browser window..
  7. launch FDRS, select INDEPENDETN OPERATOR/NON-DEALER as a user type, country = USA, click on Login tab.
  8. login using the same email address and password of motorcraftservice.com.

Those are the instructions I followed - ignore the version numbers… newest one works fine

I also created a totally new account on Motorcraft service website. I had a legacy login with no email address.

it doesn’t matter what username or password you used to purchase the license - totally separate from the FDRS login

I’ve never seen that before. Another thing that looks odd is that the “License” box is not green and should be. I’m out of ideas short of uninstalling and reinstalling as recommended above.
