So is it go time to get a license for FDRS and get BC1.4? Or are we still waiting for a few more modules?

Will not work. Doesnt work that way.Having trouble updating IPC module. It is a Raptor IPC in an xlt that I swapped out. Everything works on the cluster accept auto headlights and glare free. I was trying to update it to eliminate that possible problem with the headlights but it fails every time. I am running FDRS 38.5.7 and have successfully updated many other modules. See pics for error codes. Anyone know why this could be happening?![]()

Could you elaborate please? Will not work because it is a Raptor cluster? Is this because there are Raptor modules missing like the VDM? Or is it because of the VIN? Could this Raptor IPC be causing my glarefree to not work? Thank you for your expertise on this! Will not work. Doesnt work that way.
Its a VIN issue your truck doesnt show that cluster as a Part number. SO it will fail. It doesnt look at the part and pull the files it looks at the vin and compares the part and if it doesnt match it fails it.Could you elaborate please? Will not work because it is a Raptor cluster? So even after performing the write VIN procedure with FDRS it still will not accept that as a valid part? Is there a way to make it accept that IPC?
That's what I figured. I swear Ford is going to wait until the day after the 3yr/$600 expires to release everything.Still waiting for a few modules.
Some confusion on the recent BCM update. Is it causing issues for turning headlights or the lower trim lights?
I'll have to use FDRS to get the IPC done so might as well do whatever else is there at the time. I don't want to break my lights or anything else with a bad update.
ok thanks!Vin doesnt get written to the IPC. No. You dont want that part number to be associated with your truck.
The only thing youll do by putting a Raptor cluster in is F up your future updates.
These newer trucks are nothing like the older ones. One module with software that isnt correct will block all updates. So even if the Cluster part number get absorbed on Fords end it will absolutely screw your other updates because they are sequenced and stacked.
Once you venture into the arena of hardware customization that you appear to have done, you would need to be able to control your own destiny regarding module software/firmware upgrades. Sometimes down to the individual file level.Ok good to know!
Would a digital cluster from a lariat cause the same problem? Or just the Raptor?
ok thanks!
That sucks because it looks really awesome
Yes I agreeOnce you venture into the arena of hardware customization that you appear to have done, you would need to be able to control your own destiny regarding module software/firmware upgrades. Sometimes down to the individual file level.
You have every right to do so, and I even celebrate those that do so. But it's not for the feint of heart! ?
I personally would only do so if I were also willing to establish a business relationship (good Ole commerce $) with one of the few people that can navigate such waters with the knowledge prowess necessary.
I don't face such challenges since I purchased a trim level at the very top of the software chain, but I have to admit that I'd be intrigued with the challenge to modify an XL into EXACTLY the truck Ford wouldn't build, if you know what I mean.![]()
