What DTC?After 5 1/2 hours of watching FDRS updating @deegscom we got it done. He did not want the Audio updates done as his is working just fine. I am glad he is happy.
Will we had FDRS running, I did the only update I have which was the ABS. After completing the update, I did a network scan and my IPMA is showing a DTC that I could not clear. Any ideas? I don't have FDRS access now.
It was a huge list at the bottom of the screen. I hit the page down about 3 or 4 times to get to the bottom of the list. There was nothing I saw that even looked like an error code. Looked more like a program listing. What DTC?
What DTC?
No, but "Clear and Retest" will usually.![]()
I asked @rugedraw have a look and this is what he found.
Will a network scan clear DTC's? That is all I did.
Thanks, I missed that. I was helping another member update his truck and he had his laptop with FDRS running. We were in a bit of a rush when finishing his truck, so I didn't get much chance to poke around in mine with FDRS. Will the DTC clear by itself over time, that has to be cleared through FDRS? I don't think it is worth getting FDRS running just to clear this DTC.No, but "Clear and Retest" will usually.
All I have is the Mongoose and have not ventured into the world of Forscan...YET...LOL@Kanuck you can also clear it using forscan, or with an odbmx+
The mongoose works with a laptop and forscan, you can download forscan for free! All I have is the Mongoose and have not ventured into the world of Forscan...YET...LOL
BONUS..I did not know that. Maybe will soon be a Forscan user...LOL. Will give it a try. I have a Forscan thread to read through before I really screw things up.The mongoose works with a laptop and forscan, you can download forscan for free!
Not much of a learning curve for what you're doing, start the software, read DTC's and clear. Then you can look at the many other things you can do with it.BONUS..I did not know that. I will keep an eye on the comm DTC. I'm planning to cruse through the screens and get familiar with them first. Backup everything and when in doubt...DON'T...The hardest part about Forscan is figuring out the different screens and what they do. After that it's easy just be sure to backup everything.
I use the Mongoose with Forscan too.
Based on what Rugedraw posted it's not a critical error. Your CEL isn't on, but you do have the same communication error twice in couple months so it would be concern if it continues.
