Man, reading all these latest problems with update issues, I will just drink a cup of shut up and be thankful my connection issues were minor in comparison and that all my updates finished with no issues. The process is long when things go right. Good luck to those still fighting the fight.

If you see an update in your available software list that you know you just applied, re-run the network scan once or twice to see if it drops off. If you try to run the update again and you get the "GetConfigDataFromGIVIS Error" it's entirely possible that the reason is it's already applied the update but the server data hasn't been refreshed.

This happened (and still is happening) for lots of folks doing the latest powertrain updates for the '21 Mach-E. They run the powertrain coordinated updates and are returned to the available list that shows the PCM still needs to be done...with a download button that's now 'green' and says "Run" (which is another clue that you've already done that one).

Hitting the re-run network scan button once, maybe twice (depending on your internet connection) should make it drop off.
So I tried this and APIM is still showing up as needing updated.

I had Alexa + Full Screen carplay, did one more GWM update and now Alexa disappeared....
Just trying to get her back LOL!

But the message is "GetConfigDataFromGIVIS" and "Modified Configuration Data is missing from Ford server". No luck with refreshing 2-3 times and/or restarting FDRS.

Other suggestions?

Run this

Ford F-150 ECU module programming guide using FDRS 1684364902503

After run a PMI and select no when asked if original module is installed

If you still have no alexa Let me know

I vaguely remember someone losing Alexa and they got help getting her back with Forscan? It was an AsBuilt issue I think.

I also seem to remember seeing Alexa properties of some kind in the Diagnostic mode settings too.
You enter diagnostic by holding Fast Forward button on steering wheel and centerstack simultaneously.

Oddly enough, I let my computer and car sit for 10 mins and come back and now a GWM update was needed, followed by a TCU update, and now APIM update is no longer there. no more updates in FDRS

I’m on sync 23031 (Rev 713) power up 4.2.2, however I don’t have Alexa anymore and there’s no other updates I see in FDRS

edit: I ran a PMI on APIM, still no alexa

When you say you don’t have Alexa, what are you referring to? The Alexa emblem in the top status bar? Have you looked in the settings tab to see if Alexa is there?

neither are there. If I go to settings, the option for Alexa is no longer there.
I tried checking the diagnostic settings recommended from snakebitten, turned on and off “IPPT for Alexa” no luck

I was going to ask him the same thing. My Alexa icon in the toolbar disappeared when went through the setup process. Im assuming that was just a notification. Alexa icon is in entertainment sources on mine now.

As far as the APIM update error of GetConfigDataFromGIVIS, I tried all that as well and it would still not clear or update. About an hour ago, I got a power up update and now it’s gone. Another gateway update now so I’m doing it now.

I wish I could remember which thread had the disappearing Alexa and the solution to get it back. It was fairly recent. Maybe a month. And for some reason your scenario sounds so similar.
Again, I could be wrong, but it was some kind of module configuration issue. I think it was solved with a Forscan edit, but I can't be 100% sure.

I'm all up to date other than the IPC. When I have put the USB in, I never get any messages other than the drive is in and being indexed. I know this is a long one though. Did you guys not get any messages for the IPC update?

My first IPC update was doing what you are getting with never showing up on screen. Had to force it with CAN and it did take 6 hours to complete. The updates that I was able to successfully run on USB would sometimes take 10 minutes to show on screen that it was doing something. FYI you can tap the "system updating" at top of screen when you see it and get a basic progress bar.

Nice, I did not know it would show the progress bar. Thanks! Unfortunately, it's shown software updating for all of the USB updates except this one. I wish it would say something. Hate mindlessly leaving my truck running for hours but hopefully it's working in the background.
