Woohoo just got an email from Ford!

SYNC 4A improvements
are coming soon.

Stay up to date.

Ensure Ford Power‑Up software downloads are turned on and set up automatic updates, in a few simple steps, to keep your vehicle up to date with the most recent software.

I love how they emphasize "few simple steps" lol.

I got this too. Should be interesting considering I’m grayed out

They never downloaded to the truck, that i know but i also dont know how to confirm this. Whenever the truck starts i see in the top bar it says usb device and the name and then indexing. and nothing happens. I am a worry wort and i say to myself maybe the files never transfered to the usb device when i flashed it about a week ago. I also check the system updates everytime and they remain greyed out

Update for me - I have been on here a bit lurking and was almost ready to start the process myself but the dealership came through for me. I have a Job 1 that had NEVER received an update. My Sync screen was blank and updates were grayed. It has been in and out of the dealership for 6 months trying to get it to accept updates. The local Ford engineer told me today that my truck was the reason the stop-updating bulletin came out in January. Now maybe they have figured it out for those trucks that were in the same position as mine. The write-up is two pages long of what they have done to it over the last week.

I am just so happy that my dealership never gave up and kept trying until they finally got it to work. The entire service department knows me and my truck. We bad-mouth dealerships (and I did too at the beginning) but I have nothing but good things to say about them sticking with it.
Hi do you know exactly what they did to correct this issue? I am happy you had a good experience with your dealership

If you look on the USB stick from your pc, you can see if/what files are on it.

If you didn't get any errors when FDRS was copying them, then it's likely they are all there.

Just leave the stick in the truck and use the truck daily. High probability that it will just "kickoff" the update at some random moment over the following days/weeks.

You'll see it.

May as well just be patient. Afterall, you've been waiting for better than a year. What's 15 days? Or even 25?

I don't. All I know us that the local Ford engineer was working with Ford engineers in MI. The most interesting thing on the write up was that "no data will show on vehicle history as was instructed to enter VIN manually to avoid the vehicle sucking data from the cloud and corrupting module data again".

So did they solve your issues by using the stop-updates bulletin and if so, do you know what TSB that is? Or was it something else? In other words, do you know how they finally solved your issues? I have an early job 1 as well.

I was planning on running the PCM and maybe the APIM updates today, but when I did the initial network scan a few modules popped up in orange (which I've not seen before). Any suggestions?

I do not know how it was accomplished. Their comments on the invoice indicate they had to input my VIN manually (and no data will show on vehicle history) so that it would stop the vehicle from sucking data from the cloud and corrupting module data. Once all the updates went through and it indicated that Blue Cruise was working, the hands-free portion did not. It was found that the BC app was outdated. The engineering guys sent a new app and that solved the issue.

I wish I could be of more help but I am unsure as to how they finally got it to start accepting updates other than a lot of emails and phone calls with engineering in MI. My post was to let people know who were very hesitant to try the updates themselves that there may be a solution for those trucks that had not received a single update since the beginning through the dealerships.
