This is the big one…. What everyone has been waiting for in terms of product improvements bettering the UX. Who needs BlueCruise lane switching, drive modes set by user preference, the removal of the stupid black border around CarPlay, or user settings backed up to FordPass so you don’t have to reset all custom views and radio presets after updates. After all of these months we now know what took all hands in terms of software development. WE NO LONGER HAVE TO DEAL WITH OVERHEATING MIRRORS!!! (Which I didn’t even know was a thing). Can you tell I am a little underwhelmed at the Power-Up product improvements? So much potential for positive press / social media promo from current Ford owners to share joy in product improvements, yet so little effort and/or ability from Ford to do anything significant in a timely fashion.

Who needs BlueCruise lane switching, drive modes permanently set by user preference, the removal of the stupid black border around CarPlay, or user settings backed up to FordPass so you don’t have to re-do all custom views and radio presets after updates. They updated the DDM and PDM OTA. It is the 2023 Level of software. So everyone knows what it updates.

Yet another OTA Ford quietly notified NHTSA of late last year and is just now rolling out. It’s supposed to do more than just fix the mirror temps.

November 18, 2022 MANUFACTURER COMMUNICATION NUMBER: 21OTA22PU1007DOR
Components: VISIBILITY, STRUCTURE

NHTSA ID Number: 10227491
Manufacturer Communication Number: 21OTA22PU1007DOR
Summary
Priority Update 22-PU1007-DOR-UP for 2021 Model Year F-150 vehicles is now available.

Quality Improvements Include: Improved 1-touch up window performance, Mirror unfold button performance improvement, improvements to mirror temperature monitoring (reference FSA 21B16).

These passwords are frustrating.
I successfully got fdrs updated yesterday.
Today I needed to go back in. I enter my password. No joy
Try a few times and got locked for 15 min.
I reset password. Still no joy.
I can't get my head wrapped around this.
Ips uses a different password?
Fdrs uses yet a different password?
Ips required me to add an Additional email account because something about multiple user names.
When I launch fdrs it asks for a password. I enter what I just changed it to. But that password screen looks like ips.
Do I need to be logged into ips first then login to fdrs?
I'm in fdrs now but I have no idea how I got there.
I need to terminate the app for a bit and am afraid I won't get back in.
I have overthought this way too much. Can someone get me back on track?

Getting ready to update via FDRS this weekend. Have the Mongoose cable, USB flash drive, FDRS installed, account created, and battery charger all lined up. Just a few questions ...

1) What is the cutoff time for the 2 day FDRS license? Is it literally 48 hours, to the minute, after I purchase it, or is it end of day? I want to give myself as much time as needed just in case.

2) Main reason for wanting to update is full screen AA and Alexa. I'm at 3.5.2, and tired of waiting for Ford's OTA to show up. What modules do I need to update to get AA and Alexa? I want to tackle those first.

Thanks!

1. You get access the day you buy it plus two full calendar days. So, for example, if you buy it on a Saturday morning, it is available immediately on Saturday and expires Monday night at midnight.

2. If you have TCU and GWM updates, do those first. Then do any APIM updates that pop up. If you don’t see an APIM update and expected to, but do see an IPMA update, do that next. Keep rescanning and looking for updates to these modules until none appear anymore. The process is iterative. Then proceed to other modules. If you’re prompted by FDRS to update modules in a particular order (some are chained) follow the instructions.

Much thanks!

Now I just need to be sure and regulate my beer intake while I'm waiting for the updates to complete. I've read posts that take 8-ish hours, and I can do a lot of damage in that amount of time. ?

Try to do your work on Saturday, Sunday Mornings can be sketchy far as connection to FDRS servers, sometimes they are offline for maintenance.

That’s what cupholders are for.

If you plan to start tomorrow, do yourself a huge favor and throw your truck on the battery charger tonight, so you start with a fully-charged battery when you switch to power supply mode for programming. To maximize your license time, buy it and start as early in the morning as you can on the day you plan to begin the work.

Just noticed a new BCM update was available. Anyone know what's this for and safe? Was not there a few weeks ago when I last checked. Last update I did was the APIM early January.

Yes it is safe to install. Ford had pulled the "unsafe" version this is it's replacement. Jesse had looked and approved a week or so ago
Have the same hanging for mine right now I intend to install next weekend ? good luck!
