It’s weird but I did all of the updates on my own via FDRS, and it doesn’t say what my latest update is on the Software Updates page. It does however list the revision number on the Sync page.
Yeah what I'm asking about is sort of an edge case. I updated to full screen carplay when it dropped on FDRS a couple of months ago. I never updated again because for me it was working, even when an updated "fixed" version was pushed. I got 3.5.3 pushed via OTA right when everyone else started getting it these last couple of weeks. I have yet to get 3.5.4, and I'm wondering if my truck is even needing it. Whatever 3.5.4 contains I figure my truck must already have.

For anyone that had updated to full screen carplay a few months ago did you get 3.5.3 (I did) in the recent weeks? And further, has anyone in that same situation been pushed 3.5.4?
I'm updated but this is what I have according to the Ford App

3.5.3 is the APIM update 22293 and 3.5.4 is the TCU update that goes along with the update. Now if you did the updates manually in FDRS when 22228 was released you will get 3.5.3 but not 3.5.4 because that is the same update.

This applies to 21s.

22 uses the 3.5.3.2 for the APIM update. It is the same minus the digital owner manual file. then 3.5.4 will be the TCU for them

same for 22 if you manually updated to 22228 in FDRS and them manually updated the TCU that was released after that you will not get 3.5.4 because it is that update

Hi, everyone, I don't know if this has been asked, but in my situation, I have a single cab that I swapped over the 12" screen with apim is there a chance to get my apim updated via this method? I'm sure the OTA method is out of the question lol!
Doing these upgrades needs to be done correctly. There is more than jsut hardware involved. You more than likely will never get another update it is the reality of doing these in the 21 and up. When I do them I do them to give the best possible chance of linking with Fords servers. I ship the correct hardware and the correct software. If you just install whatever APIM it will stop down fords servers for your truck and never release another update.

Fords servers will see a mismatch and blank out the software available for your truck.

Send me your vin and what version of sync software is in the APIM you installed and Ill see if there is a chance it will link or not.

Since the updates are stacked they wont release future updates because it sees the APIM is out dated.. aand will prevent other updates. They are all linked and tied together. I tell everyone if you are going to upgrade UPDATRE everything in the truck before you do or youll be in a world of hurt IF YOU CARE about updates. If you dont then enjoy the larger screen. If you do.. Its not fun... its not as simple as installing the old one either. Now it is blanked and may never resync.

Jesse:

can you check my VIN:1FTFW1ED2MFB24154

I did all of my updates this past weekend. No software version is showing up, but this shows on the Sync page.

If you do them manually it will not show a version in the software update.. They are not correlated. It will be blank or show the last ota you did get

Dis me. ?

I miss out on all the OTA fun and angst.

I don't remember exactly if I updated the TCU back in October(?) right after updating the APIM. But I'm not one to let something like that sit in my FDRS queue. So I did it if it was there.

Truck is a dream yacht. That's all I can say. :)

Also.. seems like Ford is pushing the BCM update out VIA OTA> The one that was killing headlight modules.

Wanting to let people know. I have confirmation it has been sent out.. If you see this update that is what it is. I hope they have fixed it..

I'm in the exact same position as you, I'm not sure if I might not already be at the 3.5.4 equivalent do to the updates I did in FDRS. We really need a file or strategy compare between a known 3.5.4 install and our trucks.

So in talking with Antho is appears that 3.5.4 is for the TCU update which I had already done. So if you updated it as well you won't get it either and we can be considered "up to date"

Yea I understand I probably bricked my truck from updates but was wondering if I can update it manually with a cable and frds?
