First and foremost, a huge public THANK YOU to Jesse for helping behind the scenes all day. He is the man.

As it turns out, I had 3 modules to update, and all 3 showed the same error. All 3 are updated via USB. The other modules I updated were done purely in FDRS.

SO, Jesse provided all 3 module configs to me, and everything went smoothly. GWM->APIM->TCM. I now have the Unreal stuff, et al....

Great experience over here with you F150 guys. 10/10 would recommend. :-D

Thanks y'all.

That didn't work either unfortunately. It feels like the site was made in 1989 and they forgot to update it. It doesn't even run proper SSL encryptions lol
The Ford sites are often fully or partially off-line on Sundays for maintenance and upgrades. That is the most likely cause.

I finally got everything to work except the battery tender. My noco 10amp only keeps the battery at 11.8v.

I just got a Moto master 25amp and I'll try it out

Anything above 10v should be fine. I've found below 10v, things start to go wonky with various modules shutting down. Start with a fully charged batt and you'll be okay.

Be sure to kill anything that pulls 12v like climate and radio. I also shutoff sync screen when doing it as it's not needed to run.

I have the 75Th Anniversary screen on startup which is great but when shutting down the truck I still get the Ford logo on the shut down screen. Shouldn't this also be the 75th or is there another location that needs to be changed?

Also, anyone know if there is a way to increase the number of Sirius XM song/artist alerts via Forscan? I looked through (and searched) the spreadsheet with no luck. Might be a Sirius limited and not a Sync limit. ?‍♂

Thanks

So I got this charger which can automatically go up to 25Amps.

Unfortunately I didn't see that it doesn't have a 12v supply mode. Is it a good idea to run it as a charger and keep the ignition on and start updating the truck?

Each charger's logic is different. The 15a unit I have if put on the batt before its full, in auto mode, will continue to run even if the truck's gen kicks on putting volts way up. It's not like the charger is powering the truck, and you can see the voltage in both FDRS and Forscan so if your voltage gets to 12.7 or so, double check the charger is on. Between the under hood and aux batt, the truck has 97ah so you're not going to cut it close. The IPMA is the beast of an update -- takes 2.5-3hrs. I had the truck on a 15a charger via aux batt (negative to seat bolt bypassing the CT) and it was wholly uneventful. Never left the upper 11.x volt range (kill items of batt drain, lights to off, climate to off, domes off, screen off). The battery is a fairly linear curve until you hit 10.3v or so and then the voltage will drop quick (notes from MME which runs the damn HVB cooling pump non-stop on any update that doesn't use the USB port).

F150 was uneventful w/ 15a charger -- the MME w/ that ~15a pump ended up quite eventful. Saw ~9.5v at one point, modules started shutting down at 10v, sync went to sleep w/ KOEOff condition. The MME GT has the same DC/DC inverter as the powerboost does FWIW. The lightning w/ PPOB has either the 2.4kW inverter from the PBs, or both the 2.4kW unit for the frunk as well as the 7.2kW unit for the rear. I haven't checked out its DC/DC, but I'd bet it's got the same 220a unit as the MME and PB. Quite interesting the shared parts of the powerboost, the lightning, and the MME. I believe they all share the same AC pump as well, though the tow pack lightning has 2 AC pumps to help cool the motors and batt.

Anyone doing a BEV (electric vehicle), be sure to have yourself a healthy power supply or a vehicle that you can hook up to w/ cables and a running engine.

OK I'll order the solar PL2320 logix then since it's the recommended. I'd prefer to have a steady supply of power than gamble with something which I don't know how it will react to load fluctuations

@Jesse-Infotainment in an effort to be conscious of your time. I have a Mongoose showing up Friday. I have an F-150 with 8", one with 12", and a 350 with 12" Sync 4 systems. Is it hit or miss on the TCU, APIM, GWM updates or does it reliably fail using Mongoose vice a VCM?

The superDuty is having issues.. That is the only ONe I am aware of.. I had one have issues in person for me with a VCM 3. So not sure maybe FOrd will have it resolved soon. The F150 Seems to not have issues as of now..

Thanks, If its ok I'll drop you a PM with the SD VIN. Trying to make sure I have what I need in hand before the clock starts on the FDRS license.

Just a FYI... Got OTA 3.5.3 yesterday.

Odd since I got 3.5.2 Sept 27 2022 and then got impatient for full screen carplay so did a full FDRS update Nov 2, 2022. Not sure what came new since I already had Alexa, etc.

The update details say they are "resending to ensure some housekeeping features are included." Not sure I like a reinstall after my FDRS.

Hello everybody,

Anyone knows if I can activate this bcm feature?

I'd love to have a dash alert for the tailgate release.

I believe it is only available for power release power close tailgates. There is no way for the truck to know the tailgate is open or closed with out the full power tailgate
