ECU module programming guide using FDRS

Hey guys, I've been lurking this thread. I attempted to update my truck with FDRS and it worked for all modules (BCM, HVAC and Wireless Charger) but fails when I try to install the GMW module.

I'm getting this:

Has anyone seen this and have pointers on what I could try?

I've seen it with devices that are not vcm 2 or 3

I have not found a fix. I can provide you the. Update and then you can do a network scan in FDRs after to complete the update and sync the update with Ford

Could be, I'm using a VXDIAG Nano

If you were to send me the update file, can I still do a network scan? From the instructions, thought I was forbidden from doing a network scan.

I didnt know you had that.. Yeah then dont. It will corrupt you as build

to add a network scan is unavoidable. Network scans are what is done to refresh the module data on fords end to release the next update. The issue issometimes updates won’t release because the nano sends bad data fords serverscan’t interpret. That was an issue with a few guys I have helped.

I don’t suggest doing a network scan with one just to do it though.

send me the vin and I can send the update. then after you install the update just run a config of the gateway. Still not ideal but it is what it is

Ok. After an exhaustive search I’ve come up empty. Trying to find the Forscan option (if there is one) to turn off this notification. I have a 40/20/40 with the work surface. If the work surface is pulled out even an inch this alert is constant.

Yikes. Don't do that with FDRS. You can brick modules (and your truck).

I successfully updated other modules, but the GWM fails as above. Using FDRS with the Mongoose cable, all the updates are on. Interested to see if any resolution presents, or, if I can help the effort.

@JHForman812 might have some insight as he's an SD guy too and he's pretty damn smart

I can only offer to send the USB portion of the update.. and then after you can run a config. It should un fine.

I have seen this issue with people and I am not sure what the fix is. Ive tried to help a couple of people with the issue to no result.
