ECU module programming guide using FDRS

I find it mind boggling that a software update would be as untested as this update had to be.
Was the previous update that was immediately discovered to be a no-no also a BCM update?

Last BCM update was a big no no for Power Boost. the issue last tim ewas they were calling for one old file and installing it with the new files cuasing a crash becasue the validation failed and when you ran it again it jsut reinstalled the sam ebad package over and over

I'm sorry to have to watch you go through this trouble. Seems like Russian roulette with this update. I see your truck is an XLT, and it came factory with the LED headlights? Can you post a picture of the headlight in your truck. What is your build date?

Where did you order the module from? I'm in the same boat, and trying to get on the road right after Christmas.. Looks like it's Ford Part #13C788 (JX7B-13B626-BK).

Almost sounds like the BCM can flash the headlight modules, could be bad firmware..

Well I finally bit the bullet and started the updates myself today. I just did the BCM and thankfully my headlights are still working. Currently on my final update IPC (usb update) but I haven’t seen any change to full screen cameras in motion or blue cruise. The radio says my last update was 2.7.3 and my phone says it failed 3 times. So fingers crossed this last one is how I get all the changes

I have a job 1 Powerboost Lariat 501A (LED Reflector) - ready to do updates via FDRS but seeking clarity on BCM. Is it only LED projectors which get borken by latest BCM? Or both LED projectors and reflectors?

The results have been the 502 A and up active DSS headlamps are ok. THe XLT to 501 A headlights are not

Ths interaction the BCM has with the headlight module is via LinBus.

The active DSS do not have the linbus that is at teh BCM the LinBus is ran through the HCM.

The crazy part is the passenger side works on all examples that have the issue along with the Driver Fog and Driver Fog DRL.

If someone is in dallas.. And wants to allow me to do the BCM update on their truck I have all the parts to make the headlight work. Youll leave working. I just want to know what the deal is.

Some have soem havent. There are three now. The second person hadnt in the bcm.
