Is a cable required to perform updates, or could I purchase a FDRS license and just enter my VIN and use a USB to update my vehicle?

Post #1 literally explains what, how, why.... FDRS license would ever be a part of your day for 5 minutes, or 5 years.

If I were to stumble upon this thread today, for the very first time, without digesting post #1, this thread would have my head spinning. In fact it would be daunting just based on the SIZE that it has become.

But instead, I was fortunate to have read post #1 the very day it was posted. So it's been a long amazing ride. Lol

If I put myself in someone else's shoes and imagine a fresh discovery of this FDRS thingy, what would I know that it would take for this thread to provide the same awesome opportunity for them to address their F150 issues as it did for me those many months ago? It absolutely starts with post #1. (and honestly, I'd let post #1 lead me to #2, #3..... until I knew that I knew what the fuss is all about. Wouldn't take but a few minutes investment. At that point you could skip ahead and join the current wave and at least make sense of what decision(s) you are actually faced with.

You will need a obd cable preferably a mongoose

Agreed this thread is a novel but loaded with outstanding information. I remember when it started from the beginning as well, I was post #4!

Realistically, would it be possible to update this many modules with only a 2 day license? I understand some updates can take hours.
