Realistically, would it be possible to update this many modules with only a 2 day license? I understand some updates can take hours.
Definitely possible. Just start early one morning. If you get the license early in the AM, you essentially get an extra day too as the license is based on calendar days not hours.

I bought my license Friday evening and it allowed me to start then and run all day Saturday and half of Sunday to get everything finished.

Yes. My list was just as long if not longer when I did mine a few weeks ago. It took me 15 hours because one of the IPC updates didn't take via the USB process so it had to be pushed through with FDRS and that one alone took 6 hours.

If I put myself in someone else's shoes and imagine a fresh discovery of this FDRS thingy, what would I know that it would take for this thread to provide the same awesome opportunity for them to address their F150 issues as it did for me those many months ago?
For someone in that exact position, I can say it is one of the most amazing wealths of knowledge and experience a new owner could hope to encounter. The continued community support and sharing is especially great.

I am both excited by the prospect of running FDRS, and anxious over what the first would be like. If nothing else, this thread has shown that the combined knowledge here exceeds most dealerships who cant seem to perform what folks here have. Another key takeaway, OTA outcomes! What's documented here should give pause to relying on that ability, and make one aware they can cause harm.

That last part was really felt when I turned updates on to get my BC map refresh. I look forward to my late '22 being crusty enough to have pending material updates so can officially be indoctrinated and rest easy after turning OTA off for good.

Wasn't expecting this:

Job2 2022 and accidentally launched FDRS instead of Forscan. Decided to go ahead and do a scan but wasn't expecting anything since nothing has been mentioned.

I'm not ignoring a TCU update, so went ahead and downloaded it.
It's USB based and I think was about 148Megs?

Stuck it in the truck following the same old FDRS instructions that we have all grown accustomed to.

But after it indexed and "Applying the update", the Sync screen popped up with :

Don't know if I've ever seen Ford officially recommend a time interval or the open door suggestion?

You think the software developers are following the forums success and suggestions?

Huh, wonder if the other update actually does something to fix current function to overheat your phone without actually charging it?

Don't know. I did just apply the WACM update, but I got weaned off of even using it after experiencing its shortcomings.

If it's any better, I'll be sure to mention it

Is a cable required to perform updates, or could I purchase a FDRS license and just enter my VIN and use a USB to update my vehicle?

Also would someone be so kind as to check my software update status? 1FTEW1EP0MFB48796

A few months ago, I got an email from Ford saying that I could take my truck in (a Job 1 2021 Powerboost) and they would update it to enable blue cruise. They had it for multiple days before I was able to wrangle it out of their hands. That was a couple months ago.

Ever since then lane centering hasn't worked. All I get is "active drive assist is not available". Life got busy and I haven't had a chance to take it back to them and complain.

I then learned I could do the updates myself! So I bought a mongoose, a couple days of FDRS and applied all the updates.

I now have a bed cam that I can look at while driving, but still no Blue Cruise or lane centering.

Jesse, my vin is 1FTFW1EDXMFA98354. Any chance you can tell me why my truck isn't happy?

Thank you!

Edit: I have also noticed that the truck shifts smoother since I did the updates and responds more consistently to throttle inputs. These were pleasant surprises.

Issue for you is the IPC. They loaded one half of the update. The strategy. That is unfortunate. We will need to load the 120 file. It takes 6 hours. I will haev to initiate it remotely. As of now you have no available updates. Reason is that Ford sees the IPC is not up to date. Until that gets resolved youll never have it functioning correctly.

IF you have the mongoose and the battery charger it would be best to get it going early in the morning on a day you dont need the truck. Once I initiate the update after you will need the FDRS license so we can then PMI the IPC to get the ford servers aware of the IPC status and continue with the rest and finish the truck.

Whenever you are ready let me know and we can get it done.

EDIT - After looking all your truck needs is this file and to config the IPC and the truck will be done. ITs finished. Its just missing that file in the cluster.

To be clear, this is loading the as built into the IPC? I think I can do that. My FDRS is still active for another hour and a half.

I skipped over the "this file" part.

I do have the mongoose and a battery tender. Do you need to coordinate anything with me? I can start the upgrade first thing in the morning on Sunday, or whenever works for you. I work from home so am flexible.

No it’s the firmware. The actual software of the cluster it’s nothing you can do

Yeah. I misread your comment in my excitement.

I can initiate it tonight or in the morning. It will take 5-6 hours. Its up to you. If you want to let it run overnight you can. May be better. Then we can wrap it up in the morning. If so download teamviewer.

Let's start it tonight. I am headed down to hook her up and get teamviewer installed. Need a couple minutes.

And so very much thank you!
