I was considering doing the module programming for upgrading my 22 to the 21's climate dash controller rather than having a dealer do it (not a used one thats plug and play). So checking the first post on license there is a link to a motorcraft page for the license, but it returns an error. Can someone verify if that is a deal link?

The Google led me here: https://www.fordtechservice.dealerconnection.com/VDIRS/wds/vcm_retail_renewal_Latest.asp

Still debating if this makes sense for a one by the time you buy the hardware and license for a off versus just pay a dealer. Though coming to post this and seeing that OTA may be less than sorted, maybe?

Great info all.

The link from here:

FDRS Software Installation

1) Download and install FDRS software from here. You will need a license to run this software and can be purchased here (2-day FDRS license cost $50)

It should work just fine, I just clicked on it and it worked.

Personally I think it's well worth the cost of the Mongoose for the peace of mind getting it updated. Ford will inevitably push out more updates and whether or not they work via OTA well remains to be seen.

Thanks for that. Naturally the original link is working now without the server error. Perfect timing of checking when the page was down I guess. Posting here does the same thing as rolling into a dealer service bay....magical healing powers designed to make you look like a tool ;)

Does anyone have a solution to getting the IPC updated? VIN is 1FTFW1ED1MFB59560.
It would appear that your IPC is at the latest version from what I see. This based on comparison with another VIN that is up-to-date as well. I'm not seeing in the logs where the IPC update failed. Your truck seems to be completely up-to-date.

Thanks for checking. Finally done with updates for a while.
Little wonder dealers don’t look forward to doing updates. Do the work and FDRS can’t reliably report update status. Or incorrectly reports.
Just wondering how long before Ford updates its files. Still showing 2.1.1 as my latest. I would think nowadays updates to one file would update all associated files simultaneously. Apparently not at Ford.
May be why Ford is pushing OTA updates versions that are prior to the version on the truck. I shut off auto updates.
Thanks for your help.

Has anyone figured out how to 'clear' when the OTA check expiration is? It looks like my truck's OTA check isnt 'expiring' thus it never checking for an update. Would this be something I can clear with FOrscan with Airborne's Post #5,308?

Ive also noticed my priority is "high," when it seems a lot of folks are listed as low.

Ford Power-Up 2.6.0 Your vehicle can talk, read road signs (Note that you may have already received an earlier version of Ford Assistant and/or Speed Sign Recognition, but this update is an enhancement.) Ever wish you could talk to your truck? Now you can with Ford Assistant. Just say, “OK, Ford” to start the conversation, then ask things like “How does my cruise control work?”, or “What does Pro Trailer Backup Assist do?”. Your assistant will tell you what you need to know. Speed Sign Recognition has been added to your SYNC® Driver Assistance menu. You’ll find it on your in-vehicle screen under Adaptive Cruise Control. When on, it reads speed-limit signs and sets your cruise control to match. You can also set a speed above or below the sign amount. We also made a few changes here and there to keep things in tip-top shape. Ongoing updates like this help you enjoy the best possible version of your truck. Keep in mind that feature availability varies by model. For more information on these features, visit Ford.com/support or your digital Owner’s Manual.

I performed my updates earlier this week. Sync says it is now on version 421. Isn’t this supposed to enable cameras at speed? I still can’t view at speed. If I press the camera button I still get the warning that it’s not safe. Funny thing is when I slow down to what it seems a safe speed the rear view camera pops up on screen. It will stay this way until I press the camera button again.

Well...if we're talking about OTA PowerUps....it's gonna show that 2.1.1 message screen until you get something beyond what your current software levels are now. (And before anybody starts...I'm not counting the OTA regression issues some have experienced).

Module updates done in FDRS and OTA PowerUps as reported on the Sync screen have little to do with each other.

If your truck is only ever updated from now on using FDRS and you don't ever get another OTA, theoretically it could continue to show you at PowerUp version 2.1.1 forever. Even though you're completely up-to-date with no updates pending for your VIN.

I had my APIM replaced and was told all updates were applied. But I think I’m still on 1.7.1. Would someone please check FDRS for me? My vin is 1FTFW1ED8MFB10520.

Thank you!

You are entitled under program 21G01 to have the dealership finish programming your truck for BlueCruise.

Thanks, Mike. My truck is not a BlueCruise model (only co-pilot 360). Would the updates come over air, or should I contact the dealer again? I am disappointed because I did ask if FDRS was updated and the confirmed it was, but obviously it looks like it wasn’t… I don’t mind dealing with them, but hopefully it’ll come OTA. Thanks!

I would imagine they eventually would. I'm not a big fan of OTAs due to the sketchiness of the whole process.
