Ford assigned a case number for my OTA “downgrade” queue and I got a call back from a support specialist tonight. First thing she asked was “Is there something you need from us or are you passing on some information?” I said “I’m trying to inform you that your OTA deployment system almost caused me a lot of trouble and hopefully you can do something to prevent it from happening to others”. I think that set the tone for a very positive conversation. I explained the problem and I think she understood why I was concerned. I think she took me seriously because I was able to provide details of this and other OTA deployments that she could see at her end. In the end she seemed glad that I had the insight to turn off my automatic updates and recognized the problems Ford and their customers would have if this issue was widespread. She said her next step was to forward the information to the software deployment team. She thanked me for sharing this with her. She said the software team may reach out to me but I don’t think they will. The eff up is right there in front of them. I could see it clearly when someone sent me a screenshot of the OTA package details from PTS. If they actually do something about it, there won’t be any acknowledgement by Ford. They will fix it and move on.Thanks Jessie-
I was hoping you or one of the other experts would do this. Here's my evidence. Currently at 2.8.3 with BC and here's what's in the queue.....OTO's will stay off on my truck for a while.
