ECU module programming guide using FDRS

I left my truck over night to see what would happen. Still stuck here.
ABS update now runs successfully in that it connects and the truck shows some ABS related stuff on the dash. When its finished, FDRS says that there is still another ABS update.

Same with GWM. I perform the USB update and the truck says its done but when I rerun network test the GWM module needs the exact same update I just applied.

Looking at the logs there are a lot of Java exceptions and entries that say Cannot read DID: DE82

At this point are my only options to PMI the ABS and GWM modules?

welp it looks like the "let it sleep overnight" guys weren't lying. woke up to some gwm dtc, but its passed the could not communicate with vcm error.

It seems that way. I am as well. Not sure if were stuck or if it’s due to trim level of the truck.

We should at least be able to get camera in motion...

Seems unless you have 360 Cams they arent updating the IPMA from what I have seen. Its funny you can load the 22 files onto the IPMA for a Rear cam only IPMA. Ive done it. They dont send it out as an update for some reason.

While I'm waiting on my Mongoose to arrive, I want to make sure I have all of the rest items including the battery maintainer and any specialized adapters.

I see 3 sets of instructions:
- The directions on this thread (Iceman's)
- The Google Drive directions (Bob_Mac)
- Ford's TSB 22-2150 which has the funky adapters and removing the panels

Which set of instructions should I be running? I'm a Job 1 PB Platinum, who has failed the 1.7.1 OTA several times already.

Seems unless you have 360 Cams they arent updating the IPMA from what I have seen. Its funny you can load the 22 files onto the IPMA for a Rear cam only IPMA. Ive done it. They dont send it out as an update for some reason.

I have 302A with 360 cams and at 21281 revision 244 and never got a single IPMA update on my job1 ??‍. No adaptive cruise though.

Some strange stuff going on. I really would have thought you got the update. Not sure why you havent.

Didn't many of us overcome the issues related to the TSB(s) without using the multi-cable approach?
In fact, it was when most of us were still in the nano heyday?

Or asked another way, can't FDRS and a mongoose take our trucks from start to finish regardless of the starting point?

My understanding is that the FDRS + Mongoose can get stuck on the USB update for days/weeks until it takes, but taking your console apart per the TSB and using the funky connectors does not have that issue.

OK. Agree. Except only some percentage of trucks get in the USB war with that update. So you don't know until you try with the Mongoose first.

Yep my job 1 kicked off the first APIM update right away. With a nano. So I agree worth trying first ??‍
