After thousands of Bluecruise miles driven, I personally feel the CMR has played 0% role regarding how safely my vehicle operated in handsfree mode.

Or put another way, the CMR played no role in where I, the actual driver of the vehicle, viewed my environment. In fact, I have that same visual experience in Hands-free as I do in Hands-on.

In my experience, the CMR has often been the only malfunctioning component in the Bluecruise ensemble of components. I'd have no complaints with the CMR if it functioned as intended. But I am willing to admit that it functions much better today than it did 2.5 years ago.

I absolutely guarantee you that, if there wasn't a camera watching the driver, there would be COUNTLESS accidents happening.

I agree there should be a “camera” watching the driver but I think everyone here could agree it could be A LOT BETTER! lol
It gets really old when you are 100% watching the road and it still tells you none stop to watch the road. I have tried to find the sweet spot on where to sit and place my head and it doesn’t matter it’s still going to happen. That’s the part people has problems with.

I never said it couldn't be better. It can be. I said disabling it (or trying to fool it) is an ignorant idea.

That said, mine has given me zero problems. It doesn't exhibit the same issues as some of you have reported. I use it for ~500 of 550+ miles every week.

Wish I could say I didn’t have problems with mine lol.

On the ignorant part… Guess it would be ignorant to add things, disable, or enable anything that ford choose what your vehicle is supposed to do…. But that’s your opinion and I’ll respect it.

No, I'm completely ignorant to theses systems. Anyone can link, but can you explain it for me?
@HammaMan @roadPilot

I known both of you guys for some time now. We've spoken on and off the forums several times.

I love you guys, but both of you guys have strong personalities and can come across a bit abrasive. You guys are clashing right now, but I'm sure you would get along just fine if you were to have a convo. Just trying to keep the peace here.

I'm sceptical that the CMR in the Gen14 F150 is preventing countless accidents.

It's just my own opinion. I don't think there are countless F150 drivers that are only watching what is going on because of the eye scanning. I'm not advocating for removing it, but I just don't think if it was disabled that countless drivers would suddenly trust Bluecruise any more than they already do.

Adding numbers under a temp gauge, making your idling truck not double honk when you walk away with the key fob, or changing the tire size so your speedometer is more accurate won't kill you or someone else.

Disabling the camera for a level 2 autonomous driving system most certainly can easily lead to accidents, injury, or death.

I respect your opinions, but your comparison is not even close.

Oh, it's all good. We have been totally respectful of one another.

With or without a camera it can cause an accident…. But It telling me to watch the road or not I will never trust a vehicle to drive me “all by its self”.

I'm likely one of the most attentive BlueCruise drivers and I can tell you that there have been several times I could have found myself in a very serious situation had my camera not noticed I wasn't paying proper attention and had the truck yell at me.

Your skepticism is duly noted, but I respectfully disagree. As a former LEO, I lost count of the motor vehicle stupidity I observed over the better part of 10 years.

That's my point: Too many others WOULD.
Freedom is scary, deal with it.

The CMR can be disabled and a 2lb ankle weight attached to the wheel. Mach Es using blue cruise as intended have killed 3 people already. What you don't know is how many saves the ADAS systems have accomplished. Try as you might you cannot legislate or enforce your way to perfection.

Feel free to speculate all you want, but do understand, it's just that. It's not fact, just speculation.
