ECU module programming guide using FDRS

Took my job 1 2021 eco boost in since I was stuck and the USB update didn’t pan out. They took two months to diagnose and get the new APIM delivered and installed. Looks like they didn’t waste any time applying updates.

I suspect a lot of my problems are a weak battery and mostly taking short trips about once a week between long road trips, causing it to always be in low power mode.

The PMI process failed when they installed the new APIM. That ESN does not match the one on the APIM your truck was built with. However, wait on @Jesse-Infotainment to confirm my suspicions, but this seems very familiar to me.

yeah tht is why I wanted to see what version it was on. If they replaced the PAIM the part number would be the new one and it is not.


Youll want to get that corrected pretty quickly. Or youll have issues you may never get corrected.

OK, I’ve got the battery charger and mongoose out for delivery later today. I’ll catch up on this thread, but FDRS should be able to push the updates I need, correct?

Your first order of business will need to get the APIM PMI process completed.

Is the DSP update in FDRS still failing to install, or is it going through for you guys now? Anyone tried again recently?

Damn they really mean 3 hours for these updates. Everything going good so far!

It installs. It just doesn’t properly report the installation to the server so it remains in the FDRS queue. I retried a couple of days ago.

Quick update: statutes with IPC that took 4 hours. Then did Gateway and then TCU and my APIM update popped up after. Starting it now.

Lucky you. It took me 6 hours to update my IPC.

That'll happen a few times. Once you update certain modules, it will trigger other module updates to appear on the list.

I’m running into the USB 0 error during the PMI update. I’ve tried 2 different flash drives. It seems to be able to copy 18/36 files then errors out during the second half. Battery charged with power supply during the update.

Any advice?
