Partially out passenger side DRL on quad beam LED headlight. I know other threads have associated this issue with a previous bad BCM update, but what ended up being the remedy here? Is replacing the module the only fix? If so, what does that entail? I can't get into the dealer as they are weeks out and can't offer loaner vehicle. Would appreciate any guidance.

Hi, I have the same problem, the side lights started almost at the same time which didn't bother me since both lights looked the same but now I started to lose the upper part of the driver's side. My truck is from 2021 and is obviously out of warranty. The extended bumper-to-bumper and top-to-bottom warranty does not cover lights either. The estimate for the replacement at the dealer is almost $6000.

I wonder if this is caused by sitting in the sun / heat issue? For yours to fail so closely together is interesting.

Interesting all the failures with the LED's in the headlamp assembly reading in these F150 Forums. Mine failed back in November (2021 Powerboost) on the passenger side. Dealer first said it was the headlamp assembly and then the BCM. Didn't get it fixed since it was out of warranty. Now the exact same LED on the driver's side just went out. Is replacing BCM's/headlamp assemblies something that can be done outside of the dealership?

BCM needs the dealer software to program. You can just buy replacement headlights and install them yourself. Before you can get to the headlights you have to remove the grille assembly https://performanceparts.ford.com/download/instructionsheets/IS_M-1447-FBC1_032222.PDF

Is this the BCM in question - does it need to be installed to be program by the dealer?

How did this turnout? My passenger side led DRL around the headlight is going out, just noticed this today. Out of warranty with 63k miles, going to the dealer this Thursday to fix the overhead lights.

This is a damn f*cking shame. I’m going to have to get the ESP so that I don’t have to shell out $1400+ for new head light housings when they go bad ??

it is a dealer issue. but for those of us out of warranty we are screwed. These lights have no bulbs except the side marker. The low/high beam are a sealed unit. Seems as though they are burning out on folks quite frequently. This is an expensive fix for us outside warranty

If you live in the US then turn them off. You can also change the intensity way down using ForScan.

From what I have read (and seen pics too) this issue mainly affects XLTs and is caused by the LED emitter scorching and end of the plastic light guide. This is why the DRLs often appear dim or a light brown or yellow. And of course the LED could also just fail.

Check this video out, time stamp at 19:40.

both of mine (21 XLT) have gone out on the sides over the last 2-3 weeks. the top part looks slightly faded as well. Fortunately I have Premium care with the lighting option, so I'm going to try and get them replaced next week. Seems pretty odd for them to go out in the same way at nearly the same time.

My boss has a 501a that did something similar. he doesnt have the warranty though so hes stuck with them.

This seems like another class action waiting to happen

So maybe it seems to me like summer hit and these are starting to pop again.

Im moving to AZ soon and this definitely worries me a bit. LEDs dont really get hot, so I wonder if the direct sun is what is somehow getting to burn the end of the filiment.
