Seems to be an issue only on the led reflector and not the led projector headlights.

Just recently, I have seen a couple with LED projectors that had partial outage on the DRLs. Not as many as the reflector type though.

I see this in the reflectors regularly on the road. Its a Ford problem and they should be taking care of this.

I think I'm going to add lighting protection to my ford premiumcare esp.

Might be time to buy an extended warranty plan from Ford for $1200.00 and then bring it back under warranty. These parts are so dam expensive that one claim seems to cover the cost of the plan. ?
I looked up the cost for an ESP plan for my 21 Limited Powerboost, the Premier plan (which is the one I would need to cover LED lights) was over $2600. And that's not even including the LED light option which it appears I would have to also get?

I have a 2021 F150 XLT 3.5 ecoboost, and wondering why my headlight DRL
Is already burnt out? The dealers said since it’s past the 3 year warranty, I would need to pay for the repair, which would mean a whole new headlamp replacement! That’s crazy that you can’t replace the bulb, and that you have to replace the entire headlamp for over $2k! That’s terrible of Ford to do that, and feel like something is wrong and should be a recall. Any help or suggestions because that’s not right to have to replace it when my truck is only 3 years old. If people knew that about the headlights, that might sway people away from purchasing the truck.

I have a 21 PB...both the left and the right went out. Got them to replace with extended warranty. FORD said it was the BCM and not the lamp assembly. BCM was covered under the extended warranty. If it would have been the ($1770) lamp assembly, the extended warranty would not cover.

Do you have led reflector or led projector headlights

Can't believe there were no heatsinks for the DRL LEDs -- failure mode discovered it seems. As for trying to get things to light, there's a LIN bus that talks to the modules on the headlights for features.

There's a vid for removing lens covers and it's basically bake the headlights for 2 hours.

The sides on mine both burned out within a week of each other. Luckily I have Premium care with the lighting add on, but damn, seems like these were designed to fail not long after the 3 year warranty was up.
