I got a letter too. I have seen posts about water intrusion in the cab of these trucks before but have had no issues. They want me to bring the truck in so they can take my windshield off, inspect it, and reinstall it. I’m a if it’s not broke, don’t mess with it kind of person so any harm in just leaving it alone? Seems like it would be opening up more room for errors if they take the windshield off and reinstall it.
That's my concern too. I have had it through a wash a bunch of times, and no trouble so far. Not sure what to do. The language in the letter tells me Ford really wants to do this, possibly because of some customer lawyering up.
For the record, my build date was about November 22.

Well, cross that off the list. Had my windshield replaced a few months ago by a great glass installer.

Mine was 10/22 and I read the letter from Ford as I better make an appointment or future water penetration issues may not be covered under warranty. I’m taking it in. ??‍♂

Living in Wyoming... Who doesn't have a cracked windshield? I've had my OEM one replaced already...
Yea I had the same, started as a decent pea sized chip, and then grew to look like the Texas Longhorns logo. Finally had it replaced on my birthday (Happy Birthday to me!), but it is an exact OEM windshield so I wonder IF I got sent this letter and didn't have an OEM windshield would they still look at it? Asking for others out there

My truck is currently in the shop due to water intrusion and that stupid max tow recall. I should ask the dealer about this windshield deal and see if they can check it. They are currently replacing the whole sunroof assembly.

First I've seen or heard.

I'm always curious when one of these pop up without previous noise regarding the potential issue. So exactly what was the discovery process by Ford? Was it something that showed up on the assembly line when a robot or some piece of equipment was discovered "out of spec"?

Then that leads to a determination of VINs assembled since the previous calibration check?
There is a retired Ford engineer on the Ranger forums who had commented about how these notices are generated in the past. He said that 9/10 times they catch it in a mid production run when doing spot checks during the build process. The issue is corrected on the line and through investigation they then determine how many vehicles may have the same issue as observed. A TSB is issued for the vin numbers in the date range where defective parts or incorrect installation was performed. Ford ten sends the notices to the owners of those VINs and rarely are dealerships notified unless there happens to be one or more on their lots.

What happens if I have a tint on the windshield, I imagine they can't really remove the stock one and reinstall . Or is there a way they can do a pressure test to see if seal is good ?

The way I read the recall is they are going to remove your windshield, check the seal, and reinstall your windshield properly. Your tint shouldn't be affected if installed right.

I don't anticipate many dealers are equipped to do work like this in house. Unless they've also got a collision shop, this will likely be outsourced.
Called about this and was told they do use a local glass company. And that when the windshield is removed it sometimes breaks so they want a replacement on hand. I figured since it is my third recall on a 1 year old truck I need aa loaner vehicle. None available for several weeks. Ok call me when you get one.

All done. Took a day. Dealer said they took the truck to the body shop first to remove the windshield and then a local glass company came out to reposition and re-glue.
Happy they didn't break it :D Looks good.

I have the same recalls I think, the wiring harness on the rear axle, which I already "fixed" the step handle or something lame, and I am guessing I will get this one too since my build was nov 2022.
I will file it with the rest in a pile. maybe when I get to recall number five I will take it in. maybe
