ok, fair enuf. I think we are saying the same thing then. sorry for the confusion. I thought the OP asked in regard to the WIFI hotspot. my error
  2. Do not activate the modem in 2025 f150 ?

I think we are talking about two different things here, because you dont have to sign up for a paid activation for those things. Ford Pass works without a monthly subscription to the wireless features and it gave me my points. so maybe there is an activation you are refering to I am not aware...
  3. Do not activate the modem in 2025 f150 ?

wireless carplay is bluetooth. nothing to do with the modem in your truck.
  4. Do not activate the modem in 2025 f150 ?

uh, yah, thats what I said. its the purchase of a separate wifi plan. nothing to do with the modems operation in the background, unless you physically dig around behind the rear seat and unplug it
  5. Do not activate the modem in 2025 f150 ?

nothing happens. activating is simply you saying you want your truck to be a WiFi hotspot. instead of your phone. and its a whole new cell plan with ATT. otherwise the modem does everything it needs to for the nav, your Ford Pass app , nav , etc all work with no action required by you now...
  6. Slippery Mode - 2023 F150

my 23 KR remains in 4A under same circs. same if I go from Sport back to Normal.
  7. a GOOD-NEWS thread ..... share yours!

booyah! exact same color combo/trim as my ’23. gotta ask about tires. looks like you went with Michelin Defenders. do you like them? are they same size as original Pirelli and do they ride as smooth as the Pirellis?
  8. What do you want/expect out of the Gen 15 F-150?

new colors. I really have no reason to replace my ’23 KR. but you know.. if I were to see a shiny object in the lot….
  9. Next gen F150 100% American Made / Cost [LOCKED DUE TO POLITICS & INSULTING BEHAVIOR]

even if they rebuilt every shuttered manufacturing plant in America tomorrow they couldnt find anyone willing to work in them. that ship sailed with a Venti Chai Latte in hand

  11. Sell me on why I SHOULD allow updates

well this is why I leave mine off. not saying I have had bad experiences from updates. but there have been “resets” of minor preferences in settings that would occur. like turning the rear seatbelt warnings back on. ( sooner than the built in reset ) just things that always made go WTF. now...
  12. Sell me on why I SHOULD allow updates

cant recall specifically, but it seemed to. I gave in. auto update is still off tho.
  13. Sell me on why I SHOULD allow updates

OK, I will chime in, I have it turned off. However. when you do that it will annoy the crap out of you every time you start the truck asking for permission to update. they will beat you down like a rented mule until you concede. !!
  14. 2022 FX4 Lariat 5.0 help.

    ahh, good to know. thanks
  15. California CARB States Banning all 2025 Class A, B &C RV's over 8,500# GVWR

more CA bafoonery. the people buying a Provost or similar multi million dollar motorhome already go out of state to avoid sales tax, then they license it in Montana to avoid the stupid DMV costs. now they are going after the poor schmuck that buys a simple class B unit. So they will just drive...
  16. 2022 FX4 Lariat 5.0 help.

wild ass guess here, but maybe the MAF. ( mass air flow sensor.). ?? get a can of MAF cleaner at auto parts store and try cleaning it. funky things happen when they get old or dirty. all you are out is a can of spray to try
  17. Under Seat Storage removal...?

before I found out Ford even sold the plastic barricade, I just took a piece of walnut, rounded the edges with a router and fit it inside the seat mounts. I thought the walnut looked at home in the brown KR interior.
  18. Under Seat Storage removal...?

I took mine out of my ’23. the studs are really Torx screws , easily removed by double nutting them to loosen them up, then screw them down and they will drop out the bottom under the truck. the driver side ones are over the fuel tank so you have to reach up in there to feel them. its not...
  19. 5.0L V8 What oil for first oil change?

why not stick with what the manufacturer recommends? like above. if its a normal duty truck why go nuts? I change mine every 5K miles. and I am not into debating oils either. just my 2 cents. plenty of internet opinions over the best oils. take your pick
