You gotta be kidding me...shows how much Ford Performance tech support knows :(

So the heat is working on your truck?
It's the heated wheel. If you truck has a heated wheel it will work.

Update to 2024 XL install of the Raptor Wheel with heat-

If you are using the Boosted Grey Goose (BGG) wiring harness on a 2024 XL (what my truck is, might be the same for other trims, I don't know)

Ford changed the pin out some on the 24's and with the BGG wiring harness, while my paddle shifters worked after install, my horn didn't! I went back over and unplugged the C210 connector behind the glove box and hooked it back up stock, and the horn works fine! Sent BGG an email and literally within 20 min they had responded and apologized, they are sending me 1 wire I have to add to the 2 plugs on their C210 connector/harness and that will make the horn worked as it should.

IRT heat (again 2024XL trim), while the wheel is set up for heat, the XL is not wired to the clock spring for it, so it would require some wiring to make it work. There is a connector on the bottom of the clock spring where the heat plug on the wheel would go, but that plug is a bare female for the male heat plug from the wheel to go and stay out of the way, but not an active plug-so XL, no heated wheel, and I could care less, I wanted paddles and a nice leather wheel, so I am stoked. If your plug on the bottom of the clock spring (higher trim level than XL I mean) has pins in it, then you should be able to enable Heat.

If you have a 24 and want to use the BGG harness, talk to them first. I am sure they will eventually make a 24 specific harness as it is slightly different (horn pin out) than the 21-23's. I just checked their website and they are sold out of the harness' for now and still only show them for being for 21-23 models .

I have the same wheel and mine came with the heated function too, but the truck has to have the correct clock spring and then with Forescan enable the control in the headunit to turn it on/off since it doesnt have a physical button for the heated function

That's good to hear...I'll go ahead and pick up one of these wheels then. I already bought the correct SCCM and wiring harness to make the heated steering wheel feature work. Thanks for the clarification gentlemen!

Here's a dumb question. Where do the paddle shifters plug in at in the steering wheel itself. I have a '21 Lariat without paddle shifters and the shifter is on the floor. I bought an aftermarket steering wheel and realized I don't know where to plug them in.

Did you all reuse the steering wheel bolt? Official maintenance procedure is to discard.

They go through the main connector on the clock spring along with everything else. The steering wheel should have came with the correct harness maybe? Unless its meant to replace a Raptor wheel and you have to move the harness over from that original wheel.

Yes, official Ford spec is to replace so its up to you. I just torque it down plenty and it ain't going anywhere

It isn't torque to yield. Just clean the threads and re-apply blue thread locker

How do you know its not torque to spec? All discardable bolts are typically Torque to spec.

Not sure Id risk my family taking that gamble on a cheap bolt.

Because all torque to yield fasteners have a torque value, + a degree value to stretch the bolt

The only reason Ford wants you to replace it, is because of the factory applied thread locker

Thanks, that's a dumb reason to toss out perfectly good bolts.

Ford wants you to toss most bolts. The only ones to consider such approach is TTY and the aluminum ones used on the trans.

I just installed the Ford Performance steering wheel this weekend on a ‘22 502a, not pre-wired. So far I’m just using the paddles to pretend while driving. However I’d like to get them working.

If I buy the wires and the terminals to add to the connector am I still splicing into existing wires? Or is there a way to pin into a plug someplace to get the job done without splicing factory wires?

If you use the posi-taps previously suggested, your not technically splicing. You're sticking a tiny needle into the wire. I created the harness with all the suggested parts, just waiting for my steering wheel to show up from Amazon.
