If you are looking to convert to power close tailgate, then you won't need the BCMC relay or the wire from the BCM to BCMC. That is for the remote release function only. The power open/close tailgate does not use the relay in the BCMC for tailgate operation.
The step position sensor will not be...
I only have 2 daughters...I hope for their sake I don't get to 10 grandkids! LoL But yes, I agree, my wife and I are very much looking forward to being the Grandparents our kids never had.
The only part numbers I have are for the following...
ML3Z-99402B56-A: Step Position Sensor
MU5Z-14B291BP: RGTM - Rear Gate Trunk Module
ML3Z-99430B12-A: Pivot Hinge for Tailgate - I have an brand new one from Ford for sale if anyone is interested
ML3Z-83430B38-A: Roller - This is the other...
Thank you! I'm very much looking forward to it :)
According to my Ford dealer, the PN for the step sensor is ML3Z-99402B56-A.
The (Power To The Box) switch is the same...instead of pushing it twice to release the tailgate like you have to now. 1 press will lower the tailgate, and then 1 press...
I like the shifter in the rear location due to reasons mentioned below by others...but I'd be interested in a flush mount version. Not a fan of the recessed look honestly.
Thanks man!
I see posts on the Facebook groups and on here all the time asking why guys don't keep their RCSB trucks very long, and I attribute it to the fact that most want luxury and performance. And a stripped XL truck with vinyl floors and no real luxury options loses its appeal rather...
I bought the actuator, RGTM, left and right latch and wiring harness off eBay. So I don't have the part numbers from Ford since the numbers on the parts are just Fords engineering numbers. I'd recommend browsing eBay as well since some of these parts can get expensive very quickly from Ford.
Those wires won't help unfortunately, the main difference is the remote release actually comes from the BCMC. Which is the main fuse box under the hood...the BCM signals the BCMC to close a relay, and that in turn sends power to the remote release actuator mounted inside the tailgate.
So...
Give me some time to look over my wiring diagrams on the remote release...you should be able to convert to remote release without converting to push to start. You will need to run new wires back from the front of the truck to the rear for the remote release actuator as it uses a separate...
During the course of adding all of the personal touches to my truck, I paused at the power tailgate mod since it seemed the general consensus was that the tailgate itself was internally different between a standard remote release tailgate and a power open/close tailgate. So instead, I upgraded...
The way I did it, was find trucks on CarGurus for sale with the options I wanted...then use their VIN number to buy parts from Ford.
But to answer your question, no, I don't know the part number for the driver side door harness. I found those on eBay. So the part number on the sticker attached...
I don't run my truck nearly low enough to find out...I'm essentially at the same height as I was with the RideTech 3/5 kit. Which gives you around 1.5" of clearance between the axle tube and bump stop they supply. With the C Notch, I have plenty of room...in fact my coil overs will bottom out...
You will want the frame notch with the 4-link...which will allow you to go lower than an axle flip kit will allow. You'd just need to spec the coil overs for the ride height you want.
I'm running the RideTech coil overs in the front that I originally bought with their 3/5 drop kit. I sold the...
