I just went back and reread @Blueonblue wonderful thread entitled:
10800 lbs to Utah a full report (towing 27' sandsport toy hauler with 3.5L PowerBoost)

He set the cruise at 60mph and never saw the temperature get over 224 degrees at the steepest grade.

Wait a minute! You guys almost had me. I started feeling like the Sierra AT4 Duramax was the truck to upstage my Unicorn, but I found this:

and I smiled ?

24 combined mpg matches my PB and I destroy that slow ass pos in every other way ?
the best I’ve been able to get combined out of my PB is 21.5 mpg… but as far as the 3.0 dmax, most people I’ve talked to average combined about 27/28 out of their ginormous suburbans …. The biggest issue/worry on average seem to be the belt oil pump at the rears needing replacement at 150k, but I never keep my vehicles long enough to see that mileage on the odometer ?

Again for purposes of the original post, it’s interesting what Toyota is doing, and another available option to consumers

I just used official numbers. I prefer them over anecdotal experience for comparison when possible. The big Suburban 4wd 2022 is #6000. I think my PB is close to #5800. Regardless, I wrote that post because I like the Sierra AT4 with the 3.0 ?
Suburbans too for that matter lol. The OG Country Cadillac!

well they didn’t market it much and from my understanding a bad reputation engine… I mean GM is selling like hot cakes across their 1/2 line up and SUVs… can’t beat 28mpg city on a full size truck
Not sure "selling like hotcakes" is a correct term.
These guys have 17 Denali Diesels on their lot and are offering HUGE discounts to move them...

LoL, it autocorrected my Denali to Denial...
