I think the last time I consulted consumer reports was around 1986. I decided to make my own decisions, do my own research, and choose what was best for me. I picked a truck brand everyone loves to hate and for 35 years I owned 5 of them which required 2 of them to go to the dealership for a 1 ea warranty fix. All had 100k plus with trouble free driving and none of that was on a forum/social media for anyone to review.
I didn't research CR or social media on my F150 purchase. I looked at all of the brands and made a decision. Only time will tell as anything can be a lemon.
Forums/social media can be a source of information if it is dedicated to the subject at hand, F-150 Gen 14. But social media, like anything else, has drawbacks you must consider. Such as, a social media site represents most likely less than 1% of actual owners so you have a very small sampling of good /bad reports and opinions are very biased.
I've learned quite a bit out of searching the site as a whole about this here Ford of mine. So when I ask a question it's because I don't really know squat about these new Fords.
1984 Mustang GT, yes I know that one quite well...
