I checked CR ratings before buying my Ford. Most of the trucks are around the same scores. As this forum can attest, some people can be super unlucky and get a poorly made truck, but much harder to get stats on minor issues or no issues (other than occasional posts...).

Here's a summary of how they get their info:
https://www.consumerreports.org/car...umer-reports-car-reliability-faq-a1099917197/
"Consumer Reports obtains its reliability data from the Auto Surveys sent to Consumer Reports members each year."

Members only.

The bias is built in to the sample.

My PB has had a bunch of issues. Only the exhaust heat exchanger is unique to PB models.

I am enraged enough at the general F150 quality issues to consider trading it in at least twice a year. The latest annoyance is a bad leak at the rear pinion seal.

The reason I haven’t gotten rid of it yet is because most of driving is in the city and the hybrid saves me so much gas. Now I have it tuned and some other upgrades so it tows my 30’ camper more than adequately.

To match the towing experience, I’m looking at a 3/4 ton. But then I’m driving an even bigger, less efficient truck most days. And I’m not convinced any of the heavy duty trucks will be built better. At this point I might as well stick with what I have and deal with the 2-3 annual annoyances as long as they aren’t too costly.

........ and the PB was not compatible with my house's transfer panel, even though Ford's advertising stated the ability to power a house in the event of a power outage.
To be honest though, Alot of new generators will also not be compatible with your panel, eventually moving into most generators not being compatible. As more and more generators are being equipped with GFCI on the 240v, this is going to be more and more a problem on the older panels. Its not false advertising or a lie, its just new tech not being compatible with old tech. Sucks, But it is what it is.

Somewhat truck related...mind posting a pic of the tire reviews? They've always done decent testing of those.

The latest Consumer Reports rates the PB second from last in truck ratings. I know some have had bad luck with theirs and others have had good luck. With 30,000 miles on my 2023 PB, I can say that I love my truck. It had been practically flawless with a few minor electrical issues that have been solved by keeping the truck on a smart charger if I am not going to drive for a few days. Also what's interesting is that the Tundra is rated at the very bottom. I remember for years the Tundra was rated number 1.

One point in ratings below the four GM products above it....doesn't say much for them either! Complainers always get more visibility that those who are completely satisfied. Absolutely LUV my '23 PB and with 30K, its been fabulous.

Some of what they say may be true, but Consumer Reports will always focus on gas mileage, safety, and functionality. They treat vehicles the same way the treat a refrigerator, and would not be my first resource in purchasing a new truck.

They don't just treat them as appliances, their bias is highly visible at times. As much criticism as dodge/ram/mopar/whatever deserves, they at least used to single them out to such an extent it was comical. There used to be a time when if a mopar product got 3000 mpg, had zero failures of any sort ever, cost $50, and lasted at least 3 million miles they would have smashed it's ratings to bits because it didn't last 4 million. They seem to have gotten past that stage in their life, but it was a thing there for a while. They still nut hug on imports.

CR can be helpful at times once you wade through its bias. It has a political/ideological agenda and it's written to a particular audience that generally (and of course) shares that bias.

In other words, its views don't generally coincide with those of actual truck fans/users and actual truck fans/users don't make up a large part of its audience. Like AARP, CR's focus is the urban/near-urban suburban crowd. It's been at least two decades since CR actually worked for ALL consumers. Why, after being a member/subscriber off and on for years I finally stopped giving them any more of my money.

I take CR's views and anything it publishes on anything with a truck bed full of salt.

P.S. I'm guessing the Tundra is at the bottom of the list due to the engine problems...?

All i can say i had a 2023 powerboost was nothing but trouble. Three time's it would not start. All I got from the dealer was we have not been able to duplicate the problem & send me home with the truck after they had it for three weeks.

Sorry someone didn’t know how to wire a Powerboost to run their house. I have no problem with it and I’m not an electrician. I just powered my home four days with my PB. I know a Chevy is a great truck enjoy and I’ll enjoy getting 23 MPG and running my home when the power is out while you go out to eat and take a shower in the dark. Have a nice day.

I don't give a lot of weight to what CR's says. They tend to make statements that lead me to believe they are not the type of folks I surround myself with that i know, like and trust.

All that said and despite all that's been said about the PB, after three years of being in production I will be picking up a new PB this Saturday. I was going to downgrade to a Maverick to save a little money, but my wife helped me see a full size truck is more desirable, I probably wouldn't be happy with the the Maverick and I would literally brake it.

Anywho, after 55k miles on my 21 truck with the 3.5 Eco, my final review of it would be I had a few items fixed that were convered under warranty and aside from those it's been a great truck.
You have a great wife!

Indeed it is. I've seen reports in the past where nissans, and I think titans in particular, are ranked dead last in owner satisfaction.
