My 22 Powerboost Lariat 501a was built June 5th and I have those. I ordered mine February and not once was I contacted about dropping an option.
You are one of the lucky ones. 502A was the bottom level to keep those. You actually ordered a little later than some and got the truck earlier. You must have just squeaked it in to keep those options before deletion.

there are two antennas on teh 21 f150. The passenger side is tri band (part number LC3Z19A390F ). It is diversity cell antenna Also GPS and SAT. THe driver side is a primary Cell antenna only.

The GPS/SAT has a single coax ran to behind the glove box that is then connected to a splitter to provide GPS and sat.

These configurations vary based on the truck if it has sat or gps. They all have the TCU. SO all will have two antennas on the rear.

The TCU is on the rear wall below the window behind passenger side seat.

They also equip the truck as its needed. So if you dont have GPS and or sat the antenna will not be tri band .

If you have Sync 4a 12" NON nav it pulls the GPS from the TCU so there is NO GPS antenna at the (APIM)
Good day to you Jesse,

Journey is all about restoring that which was ‘deleted’ by Ford in this cycle of fulfillments: SiriusXM and Nav ( of any kind ). XM does not show up under audio as a choice and Nav has been eliminated from the delivered vehicle’s Productivity Screen’s list of features.

We were rebated $200 bucks for this inconvenience and some say it’s a chip that will be provided later though a simple chip will not likely restore the Screen appearances.

Given your explanation of the tri-band antenna, it seems this is the most likely candidate and most common to the two deletions. FDrS would of course need manipulation.

Have you run across this yet in your experience?

Mine was a 500a, ordered on Feb 2, built in June and I got ensnared in the trap. Lucky stars for you.

Yes I have added both back to a 22 f150 502a Forscan is the best option to add back sat radio.

The nav is a bit more complicated. The online features are relied on a lot in the new Gen F150. So even if you do add the factory nav back the traffic and weather will not function. You also will run into the inability to enter a destination.

There are also other obstacles I haven’t discovered answered to yet. Such as the 360l sat radio package and it’s reliance on internet connectivity for some of its features. I don’t know that those features will ever work or can be made to work. Those features are switching to internet streaming when antenna signal is blocked, starting a song from the beginning and buffering.

So the addition of these features is much more difficult than the subtraction. Fords credit is a joke as well.

Seems odd that the part that MAY be the delete is the Triband Antenna, LC3Z19A390F, because that’s available all over the net to buy. Even Fords Parts Wholesalers.

So it sounds as though you’ve been mostly successful in jail breaking functions back in? Was the Triband antenna the initial missing link?

I don't think you know what is missing until you dig and verify what's in place in your truck.

I ended up with the Park Assist delete. So when my truck arrived with all 6 sensors in the front and rear bumper, it raised some eyebrows. In fact, nobody has yet pointed out a hardware piece that I could verify is missing. However, I wouldn't ever use the feature anyways, so the $365 credit is fine with me.

Which brings up the other point.... $365 is a larger credit than folks are getting for things like multicontour seat removal. That makes no economic sense to me. Even your deletes seem more expensive than Park Assist in my case. I still have the camera autolaunch as the truck approaches an object.

No. That’s the least of the worries. You can use any generic gps antenna or sat antenna. The only benefit to the OEM is the signal and reliability of signal is far superior to a dash antenna.

The biggest issues are the programming.. I can get all of it working. Minus the parts I can’t control like the traffic and weather and Sirius internet functions. I have no control over those because ford sends those out based on subscriptions and they can’t be added to a truck that didn’t have it

I am sure there is a Chinese menu at Ford that was put in place for what would be sacraficed for each deletion. It would sure be nice to have a OTA update that would replace all those functions when the diagnostics show that once deleted items show up in a system.

Jesse, so a truck that is missing (deleted) Sirius and Nav, they DO still have cellular connectivity? It's really the GPS related service that is unsupported by hardware?

If so, it's surprising that the truck would be without cellular based subscription services, like Ford Streaming or WiFi Hotspot. Afterall, neither would require satellite connectivity.

It's amazing you can make sense of all the different options on these trucks

Does anyone know if the ‘cover’ of the cell antennas come off to allow for inspection or does one need to drop the headliner to figure that out?

Yes all have the TCU with cellular that’s how the OTAs roll in and ford pass work.

The sat radio is all internal to the acm. The issues is the ability of all the modules to work as they should and that is where the programming comes in. Is knowing what is what and what is needed to make it all work.

The sat antenna is only for sat radio. The trucks without gps still have gps antenna but it’s only for the TCU and that is how the compass works and it knows where the truck is. Also when you use CarPlay or android auto it stops using the phones gps and changes to the trucks signal

My truck, 500a with XM and NAV delete, is still eligible for Ford‘s streaming services …. At least the pitch keeps landing in my inbox. I’m sure that’s 4g based, not Satellite dependent.

Also, I understood that FordPass leverages Bluetooth to connect to the vehicle?

FordPass can communicate with the truck using cellular or Bluetooth.
FordPass has extended capabilities though using Bluetooth compared to cellular.
