Well... On my recent road trip, the Ford maps came in VERY handy!
I was in Yellowstone... where there is very little Verizon coverage, and I forgot to download the Apple Maps for the area. I had my list of places to visit, but without the downloaded maps Apple Maps was worthless. Ford took me right where I needed to go.
Yes... I know that this will still work even if I don't pay... I just won't get real-time traffic, etc. But, I thought that it was rather ironic that right after I bash Ford maps.... I am forced to use them. (Or... heaven forbid... a PAPER MAP!)
