Im looking for ways to screw up my f150 just like I have my other. My f150 is a 2wd and I learned from my c10, 2wd goes down 4wd goes up. So im going down.

However in my while of research on how to lower my f150 have lead me, not far to say the least.

Im old fashioned and lowering for me just involved cutting the spring and throwing on lowering spindles, ez quick 3 hour job.

But the f150 dosnt seem to be that easy or...cheap. im looking at going 3-5 (i like a good stance) but I can't find one very cheap? And dont really know what to get anyway. (For the front)

So what do i really need to get to make the front of my truck go down 3 inches. Is it as simple as cutting a spring(or getting lowering springs)

Because for some reason km seeing control arms when I search it up.

Well they don't sell drop spindles for these trucks. I went ride tech, and really like it. Rides smooth like OEM. That is on account of the rubber bushings everywhere. The control arms are to help bring it back into alignment easily. Though some of us have had to buy the SPC HD lower control arm cam bolts.

If you are looking for cheap, keep an eye out for used parts here on the forum. Happens every now and then.

You really won't be happy with cutting those springs....

IHC if you want cheap, Ride Tech if you wanna ride good.

I have a 3/5 lowered 4x4.

Went Belltech adjustable up front. Ride well.
Rear you'll have no choice but a flip kit.

IHC front control arm ball joint cups like to split at the welds. There are pics on this forum somewhere. Just can't find them right now.

I used their 4wd version for more than 18,000 miles and had no complaints. Thats about as cheap as you are going to get for the front.

for the rear I had a cheap maxtrac flip kit, just brackets and bolts, with bilstein shocks and it the ride was great but it started making noise in the rear and thats when i noticed the brackets were bending/warping and i couldnt get things torqued correctly without bending the brackets more.
so I ripped the cheap flip kit out and went with ridetech.
this past weekend i installed the front ridetech kit so i dont yet know if it is better or worse than the belltech solution i mentioned above.

Like others have said, save an pay once. Dont be like me and waste money on a cheap kit (rear in my case) only to have to uninstall it.

I probably would have been happy with the beltech front setup but I wanted the ridetech. Only reason i swapped it.

Keep in mind that cheap suspension components are normally absolute junk. Poor geometry and they normally ride like complete shit.

Yes. You just replace the stock strut with these. They have a selection of sleeves that you use to adjust the ride height. If you want to change ride height after you install them you have to take it all apart.

rear shock choice will make a huge difference in ride quality. Cheap kits can ride like crap and cause vibrations.
