Should be a big hit with the Boomers.

The law is ridiculous. But this is a stretch of a reason to speed.Seems unsafe to me. If you’re already going 5mph over, but then have to accelerate to avoid a collision, you can only accelerate another 5mph ?
They could start by enforcing current laws instead of trying to use tech as a crutch. Seize all vehicles of unlicensed and uninsured. Up to 30% of drivers / vehicles would be gone.I used to commute by bicycle but the roadways are so unsafe I gave it up, having been clipped twice and people accelerating crazily to get ahead only to turn into the next driveway on many occasions. People drive like f'ing wack jobs. Constant me-first attitudes, distracted driving and the sense that saving a few seconds matters.
I am not a slow driver in my truck, but it's bigger than a passenger car and people are constantly trying to weave around because of a perceived advantage.
Government is going to do something to try and make the roads a bit safer rather than just lament the number of deaths and injuries because reasonable drivers complain. I say we have no one to blame but ourselves. If you don't want a Big Brother "solution" then grow up and drive responsibly...
Sonoma Raceway IS "open" every Wedesday night. And I don't know of ANY race Track that doesn't already have a "Track Day".I guess I understand the 'freedom' thing with high powered vehicles, and I spent the first 45 years of my life going way over the speed limit often.
However, if the law is XX, why do we need vehicles that can do 2x that speed limit?
I used to ride sportbikes and used them proper like, but a new R1 can double the speed limit, in 1st gear, and it has 6 of them. That's obviously highly illegal to use, so why does it even exist?
I've often thought it would be great if my vehicles automatically topped out at say 8% over the current speed limit for my own good. Maybe at the track they could open up?
Kinda is now with speed-limiters, but people learn to crack the codes and find ways around to defeat it. The aftermarket will always find codes to crack.Limiting vehicle speed with technology is a big mistake..
I really don't understand how you could have misconstrued my post so darn much.Sonoma Raceway IS "open" every Wedesday night. And I don't know of ANY race Track that doesn't already have a "Track Day".
Are you suggesting YET ANOTHER "law" to fix a "problem" that doesn't exist?
I think we already have enough of those.
My hybrid f150 with a 7000watt generator looks pretty good to me. What?Crazy stuff gets in the books. New York State has banned all natural gas hookups for new build homes beyond 2026. No generators, no furnaces, no boilers, no gas stoves or dryers. In the Buffalo blizzard last Christmas Eve this trapped and many without natural gas died. The NYS government would rather you freeze to death in your home than run gas in the name of the environment. This means no more low voltage emergency start fireplaces or generators.
Actually yes they plan to, no internal combustion allowed in New York in 11 years. It will be illegal to buy. You’ll have to have an EV…which you can’t recharge when your battery dies running the house because a generator is illegal. Genuises aren’t they?My hybrid f150 with a 7000watt generator looks pretty good to me. What?
are they going to restrict my hybrid? Ha ha
After reading this I'm going to go pet my awesome truck.
It will set well into the 90s. My offset is +10Whats the Max Ford allows for its cruise control? Typically I run up to three or four over.
Take a look at my avatar. Image was taken real time while decending on I77 arount Mount Airy/Fancy Gap. The Ford Computer or GPS induced 85 speed limit is what it read once. That waved a serious red flag at me. Never happened again..... I think it may have misread one of those LED speed limit signs saying 65.It will set well into the 90s. My offset is +10
