Thank you for looking that up for me. I will charge it up again and give it another try. Does it help to have the charger on it when it is attempting the update on 12v power supply mode? I have seen that on some other posts about updates but not sure if that will help in this case.
No, it won't help as far as I know.

Thanks everyone on this thread for sharing your experiences. My 22 PB received the BC 1.4 update last Thursday and have been trying all weekend to get it installed but I always get the "Update Interrupted" message. I have an interstate H7 installed Jan 2024. I have charged the battery. @rugedraw: Could you look at my trucks status and let me know what it is failing on. I will DM you my VIN. Thanks in advance.

Got your message Battery stats are low. SoC is low at 60% and capacity is low for an H8, too. Charge up the battery.

My alert just popped today, scheduled it for tonight at 1am. Since i already have all the FDRS updates and already set BC1.4 via forscan, i guess this is just more of a "formality" update or just enabling the bc1.4 features "officially"?

Thanks for the info. I will charge the battery.
I charged the battery overnight. 8am install was interrupted. I drove the truck for an hour at Lunch once back in the garage I reconnected the charger. I initiated a manual update which succeeded!

Thought you and others might find this interesting. Seems the powerboost kicks on the DC-DC inverter during updates? maybe that was a known thing and i didnt know. Notice the 1am jump to over 13v.

PB will turn on the DC/DC when in key on engine off (accessory) so long as there's sufficient charge in the HVB. When it hits its bottom threshold (~40%) it turns off and runs on 12v only. I believe the battery light in the IPC will come on once it powers off the DC/DC. I think caught it once, but that's not to say it still behaves that way.

just to clarify, i was saying it clearly popped up voltage (assuming DC-DC inverter is the only thing that could do that) briefly during the update at 1am, i was obviously sleeping then, so it seemingly did this all on its own as part of the update, even though it has plenty of voltage since i was at 12.7x v prior to the update cycle at 1am. Just thought that was interesting and didnt know it was a known thing or not.
*sorry, i assume you just were referring to that "key on engine off" state is what it went into during the update, not that i was out there or anything*

Yes, it does that for certain updates. Not sure when it started doing that, but I learned about that on the EV forums some time ago.

Maybe that was part of the recent BMS update? Everyone here knows ford has an issue with update success rate, primarily due to battery voltage. So maybe its just an added saftey net, and "use it if you got it" type thing with regards to turning on the DC-DC as along as its above the 40% threshold on the HVB.

That's interesting to see they're doing it on the PB now -- that's new logic.
That could be bad news, at 35% SOC the PB locks down and the dealer has to get to the HVB and charge it. Ford is playing with fire on that front. That could have been the source of the recent report of the PB having to get towed for HVB charging.

oh ford and their unintended consequences. Hey but at least they're not going to get as many AGM batt complaints right? You might just have the truck towed to the dealer to get the HVB charged once that 35% brick threshold kicks in because they need to update that logic and let it get to a lower SOC before it panics/locks out.

That did not happen on my truck during this update, Voltage drew down but never any recharge.

hopefully they have logic to prevent it from doing that!
