Dafish I’m right there with you. I have always had great luck with Motorcraft batteries until now. The one in my 09 worked great for six years. I know these new trucks are vastly different, but I’ve already had the charger on this “new” battery more times than I did my 09 in 13 years! It ridiculous I can’t leave my truck parked for a week without having battery issues.

Worse, this will sit for weeks at a time without being started. Heck, in the summer it could go a few months unused. Not a problem for all my other cars. This? Don't sound promising...

Fortunately I bought one with time and miles still on the factory warranty so I've got a little protection.

I woke the truck up probably 14 times w/ lights on, lock / unlock etc.. still sitting at 13.11 volts so seems winter is no obstacle for me w/ this little batt. 2 days below freezing and over a dozen interactions with 100% 12v SOC.

Hamma: Below freezing.. Hell I've gone golfing at 32f. You must live in a moderate temperature area. Color me jealous!

I don't accidently live in the south :ROFLMAO:

Best weather I had was living on a gulf coast barrier island. Was always 10 degrees warmer in the winter than the mainland, and 10 degrees cooler in the summer.

You weirdos and your extended snow days ?‍♂

Picked up a H8 battery today, it's on charge right now, Canada Proof with 60 month free replacement warranty. I've tried two H6 batteries, the stock battery and a friends few month old battery and neither have held up. I keep getting shutting down to safe battery errors.

First truck I've ever had that is so hard on batteries! Way more bells, whistles and electronic gadgetry in this Lariat than any of the previous trucks I've had.

Would you mind sharing what brand battery you bought and where ? I’m giving the stealership one more chance to make it right with all the battery saving mode error codes i’ve been having with my ‘21 XLT FX4 EB for the past 6 months. Thx

The battery is a Canadian Energy Brand and is labelled as Canada Proof AGM. I purchased it from one of the local Jobber parts stores that I deal with located here in Nelson. They had it in stock.

Walmart had no stock of anything bigger than the H6, and I really do not trust Cambodian Tire batteries so it was this one or NAPA.

Thank you sir.. will see what Ford says, if they’re not going to replace it, i’ll look into NAPA or your brand .

Collected some really interesting additional info I need to put together to present on the DC/DC, SOC, and heat exchanger. Still in the middle of it, need this as a reminder to put it together. Working on 2 vehicles at the same time currently.

I’m having intermittent battery drain/SoC issues on my ’21 Lariat 3.5eb such as low power mode and auto stop/start no working "System on due to vehicle charging". 20k miles so rather low by comparison to others on here I suppose. Truck at dealer now for other issues (DRLs - not headlamps - go on and off when truck is off, recalls, etc.) but I’ve asked them to test battery. They said its ‘fine’ like they always seem to tell people on here.

However more research on the eSourceBook for 2021 details Lariat’s and above should be built with larger alternators and the H7 (800 CCA) battery. I plan to confirm with dealer that if the OEM battery currently in the truck is H6, I’m requesting a swap out to the correct battery per Ford’s own spec sheets to H7. Found this interesting information especially given the battery shortages of 2020-2021 – Ford was likely putting whatever they had in there and sending trucks on their way

I have a 21 EB Lariat as well. Same as you I was having a problem with my H6 Batt and while at the dealer weeks ago for other issues and I brought up the batt issues. Showed them the same report you have there. They ran their test and said nothing they could do and it was fine to put H6 in our trucks. Said Ford would not replace it. So I told them to put the H7 in anyway and Ill pay.

My current 2010 PB H7 battery is at 63% SOC. I am looking to replace with the Walmart H7 battery...

https://www.walmart.com/ip/EverStar...ze-H7-LN4-94R-12-Volt-850-CCA-140-RC/40685088

Any reason to hang on to my original battery for use with projects or the like if it's 63% SOC? Does it still have use in it for lightweight hobby type stuff like powering stuff or field charging stuff or a campsite power source? or just recycle it? :)
