The isolator SHOULD prevent parasitic draw of the aux batter from the main……shouldn’t it?I can't imagine that Ford or anyone else (well, maybe fiat or yugo) would be dumb enough to do it (although I've seen dumber), if both batteries are fully in the same circuit without limiters (which cost voltage, etc.), one *will* charge the other. Maybe not a lot, depending on circumstances, but the weaker *will* drain from the stronger.
any changes made to help it fit?
"should" is the operative word! The isolator SHOULD prevent parasitic draw of the aux batter from the main……shouldn’t it?
No, you don't need to do this. Just reset the BMS and you're ready to go. I Changed my 21 5.0 to an H8 a couple of years ago, haven't had a problem since then.I just changed my battery in my 2021, 5.0 engine. I installed the H8 battery (the one for the diesel). In the owners manual it says I need to calibrate the steering angle sensor. Did any of you do this step? Seethe attached screenshot from the manual.![]()

BTW it’s starting with some power now. Before it was geezing to turnoverI just did the battery management system reset. With accessory power on, I flashed the high beams 5 times, then pressed the brake pedal 3 times. The battery light flashed a few times and went out. is this all I need to do?
