Hey guys,
I got my new lariat last month. I have the B&O stereo, not the unleashed one. Can I make this thing any louder without adding amps etc? My old truck had amps, subs, etc when I bought it, so maybe my expectations are a little high but I feel like it should be much louder. I have played with the settings a bit and nothing seems to make a difference. Thanks!

The 8 speaker B&O system sucks.

I added aftermarket subs and amp, using the special programmed Kicker keyloc from @SoundsGoodStereo.

There is a thread discussing Forscan changes, and has some evidence that Ford programmed the stereos wrong from the factory (supercab audio config applied to supercrew trucks, so the B&O sub gets very little power) but not sure if it's conclusive.

there have been some updates released that help with this, but if your truck is brand new, it may have already came with them installed

I can confirm that when my truck got the OTA update for the sound system it sounded a lot better. Before the update, it sounded like there was no sub whatsoever, and you had to crank the volume to hear it at highway speed.

As previously mentioned, you might need the update. I got my update and it still wasn't great. I've got a custom setup that I will be installing any time.....I just need to have a day or two with nothing going on.

Thanks guys. The sound is great, I just expected more volume. I will look into any possible updates.

I think certain settings make a big difference in how the stereo sounds. I can put my radio on level 15 and it's very loud. Certain songs have better bass than others. Make sure you have the surround sound setting enabled. Turn the speed compensation setting to High. And I equalize with the bass and treble all the way up and the mid about 75%. Seems pretty good to me. The bass isn't door rattle loud but I can see the review mirror shaking from the bass lol.

The B&O system is picky on source. How are you playing music?

Things that have helped sound quality for me:
Using IOS, dropped android
Spotify, there are better apps still
Quality settings are all at max, not auto in spotify app
Adjust the equalizer in spotify app while not connected to sync4
Not playing over bluetooth

There have been a few OTA updates that have bumped overall sound quality as well.

I am using bluetooth and android. I have alot of music saved on my phone from the old days of ipods and also use spotify. I will try using another source and see if that makes a difference. Thanks
