has anyone took the speaker wires from the factory sub, connected to an aftermarket amp and installed a sub setup leaving the rest of the factory setup as it comes?

You'd need a harness to do that. B&O has a DSP, so you can't just throw an analog amp in there to re-power things. I would contact (disregard) or just search for threads here. What you want to do has been done by many.

Yeah, you can connect up an LC2i to the sub output and you've got roll-off free pre amps.

Oh, I misunderstood his post. For some reason, I thought he was referring to B&O powered speakers themselves.

@Letty My bad.....yes. That with an LC2i is exactly how I have my subs set up in my B&O equipped truck.

The LC2i is a great component but will struggle with the factory bass roll-off. The proper device is the Kicker KeyLOC which does require programming but will resolve the roll-off and provide a stable, un-boosted output to your amplifier.

I agree with you 100%. At the time did I upgraded my system, I was not aware of the Kicker product, so I took this route.

Yes, if it ever drives you mad, sell it and get a KeyLOC :)

Nice to see products get smarter.
Is there a reason you chose to intercept the sub channel with a t-harness vs connecting to its output or are you Y'n a passenger door speaker?

We are not using the subwoofer signal, we are utilizing the interior speaker system. It's stable but lacks certain frequencies, that's why we pre-program the KeyLOC to restore these frequencies precisely before we ship it out. It provides a 30-80hz, flat and stable output :)
