I've noticed an improvement in sound quality recently it must have been an OTA update. I used to listen to Tidal lossless for a high quality experience where I could actually here something from every speaker. Then that subscription subsided and I was just listening to SXM and some podcasts for the last few months until last week when I opened Spotify to play a xmas playlist and noticed for the first time that Spotify was actually taking advantage of the whole soundstage now... Came on here to see if there was something done in a recent update or something and I found this thread.
Y'all have me contemplating that centre channel disconnect now.

I didn't realize how little effort it would take. Almost tool-less. (7mm 1/4" socket)
Literally a couple of minutes.

I could plug it right back in if it wasn't to my liking.

Instead, now I want to see how easy it is to pry up the other 2 midrange covers and replace them with similarly efficient speakers but better quality.
I said I wasn't going to do this. But dang that was some low hanging fruit.

really reduced the center channel. speakers in corner are much louder and a bit of a hall echo effect going on

Let me be more specific. Will I get the DSP and ACM updates over the air? Or are these updates that you have to manually select via FDRS, using the special cable, and paying the Ford online access?

My understanding is they don’t come ota. Not positive tho.
I did it myself bc my stereo did the loud boom sounds two or three times. Figured there was a chance of a fix in it and don’t want that happening.

Would one of you with the 8-speaker B&O who did a DSP update mind going into the diag menu and post your s/w and calibration numbers?

I just updated my 2021 Job 1 truck and applied both the DSP and ACM updates using FDRS. Nothing shows in the OTA history for applying updates to either module for my truck and it has a pretty extensive OTA update history.

My sound system frequently loses two speakers. Haven't scheduled an appointment yet, but I figure the dealer will try a software update before anything else. Assuming, of course, that I actually have one available. Haven't confirmed that yet.

I will say after the ACM and DSP updates, my Unleashed system seems to sound quite a bit better. Just went for a drive and don't recall it sounding as good as it did. Those two updates don't take long, so you may want to have your VIN ran (PM me if you want me to check if those updates are available, as my FDRS is still working through the end of today). To get these done at a dealer would be less than an hour of labor at their going rate. Those modules can be updated without having to update other modules from my experience.
