The PowerBoost system turns on and off randomly and the control through the infotainment cannot toggle the settings (ie turn it on or off). Sounds like a PowerBoost related issue to me! This complaint has been made several times in this thread as the issue is recurring.

Secondly, I have repeatedly posted that this is the ONLY truck currently on the market that has the features we need. Namely, ProPower Onboard. We don’t regret the purchase one bit - just wish that the truck, you know…worked.
Your PowerBoost is supposed to turn off and on....? Am I misreading that? It only sticks to "electric mode" for a couple seconds.

In re-reading your entire list of problems, it sounds like your entire truck has problems with the PB, being the least likely problem of many.

Personally, I would have bought a new battery and seen if that would resolve any problems. Almost all the problems I am reading about, could be related to a bad battery. Seems like the dealership is bending over backwards offering you ext warranties and to buy back your truck. Definitely a positive for you.

My Powerboost in town driving sucks … it basically only goes into electric mode at at stop sign .. I am not seeing the advantages of driving it in town .. I have a ton of other issues that some say is “not Powerboost related” if it’s a Powerboost … it’s related as that is what the truck is … the BSIG, battery, cat , ac smell and transmission issues are PB issues because that is what the pos is … a Powerboost … the worst vehicle I have purchased ..

That's too bad your not having a good experience with it.
I absolutely love mine. The technology is amazing. The only trouble I have had is with a trailer control module. My transmission shifts smooth. I can't feel the transfer from ice to EV. I pull trailers. My PB pulls way better than my other trucks. All three have the twin turbo v6. The 7k generator is awesome.
The problems you mentioned can happen on non PB. Only difference between PB and non PB is a battery and drive motor. Everything else is the same on all trucks.
My service department is amazing. They called me to say I have recals to be done. They are coming to MY house on the 17th to do the work.
I'm so happy I bought it.

I have a 24 PB. It’s been perfect getting 21.8 MPG and can’t tell it it’s in electric mode or ICE without looking at the tech. And then the power it will out run the GTO I had in 1967.

That's gotta be a glitch in the instrument panel on the '24s... Previous model years you always saw "Electric Driving" bottom-center whenever it switched to electric. Now it's not or miss. The only other way to know it's electric mode is seeing the tach zero out.

I am glad I did NOT make a mistake and order the Powerboost and instead got the baby diesel Powerstroke instead. . That Powerboost has too many thing to go wrong and will cost a lot to fix out of warranty.

You should be able to switch between the screens you have set to see on the dash. I have 8 or more that I switch between. One of those is driving mode.

1- never keep a Ford past it's warranty period
2- Plenty can go wrong with modern diesels due to all the EPA B.S. on them.

The main warranty on my little powerstroke engine plus the extended warranty covers just about anything that might go wrong with the engine. The 3.0 Powerstroke has almost no major issues and has been reliable across the board with owners.

I love the tech. I bought the ford service plan for only 1200.00 o think. 10 years 100k miles. I even have rental.
I won't own it in ten years. In the mean time I enjoy the 360 cameras, android auto, hands free driving with "open pilot". I also love the powerboost. We had a tornado rip through. Power out for two days. The generator supply power to my house including my AC. Used 4 gallons and didn't bother the neighbors.
Mine is a 2022. Ford put every conceivable gadget in it. Too bad ford is deleting some of these options in the later models.
I even love the ford pass app. I was smart. I didn't let it update to 5.0. I still have all the good features.

I have a dedicated generator to power the important stuff at home if the power goes out. I am not interested in disconnecting my truck to drive somewhere and everything that was previously powered is now dead.

So you leave the generator running when gone? What time at night do you turn it off so you don't bother the neighbors?
Can your generator power the whole house? Including your AC?
How many hours can you run on a tank of fuel?

Disconnecting when I leave. Reach in tale gate and unplug.
Use 2 gallon fuel in 24 hours.
Engine runs at idle for 1 minute to charge battery then rests for 6min.
Can't hear it idling.
Truck only Runs depending on load. Go to bed, turn off lights. Truck doesn't run. App tells me what amount of amperage I'm using at all times. I see my fuel level. Have a higher resale. Can provide full power to my trailer when scooting down the road.
I have all the power I need camping without bothering anyone.

I have a 8k honda generator that I just sold. When I use it I have to drag it out from the garage. Sounds like a semi truck. Can't use it outside when it's raining. Super inefficient. I had to keep it running constantly even when I needed to have just one 12watt led light bulb lit.
You sound like a minimalist but you sure go threw a lot to watch TV in an outage.

Then the options allow me to have hands free autopilot. I use open pilot. A massive advantage over blue cruse. Blue cruse barely works. Expensive subscription. Open Pilot works on all roads at all times. Simply amazing.
Android auto connects to my music server at home. I get music streaming anywhere in the world without subscription. Intelligent head lights.
I can't feel the transition between powerboost and Engine. Transmission is super smooth. The added torque from the powerboost along with the twin turbo engine makes pulling my trailer seem like it not there.
Now the bad stuff. I'm on my third trailer brake module. I had one issue with the exhaust servo that got fixed. 1.5 years and mostly problem free. I live 3 blocks from my dealer. When I needed the exhaust fixed my dealer drove to my house, dropped off the loaner and took my truck. They returned my truck. Some recalls last week. My dealer came to my house with a service truck. Did the recalls and was done by the time I went to work.
I love my truck so much I divorced my wife.

In regards to the generator, yes I leave it running continuously on a covered porch if the power is out like with Hurricane Beryl that just came through. The only thing I care about is keeping my food safe and cold in the refrigerator and chest freezer. I just use a little Honda EU2000 generator and it runs both appliances for 10-12 hours on 1.1 gallons since it drops to almost an idle when not under a load. Most the neighbors have automatic whole house generators outside that run as soon as the power goes out so nobody is bothered by the minimal noise the little Honda generator makes.
