I changed everything as show on page 1 and there are problems. A couple of the changes give me checksum errors when I write the HCM and SCCM MODULES. I am able to get the glare free option in Sync and the green headlight icon but the SCCM is throwing codes. If I revert everything back to the original as builds the codes go away

My truck is a diesel if that might change any options. The IPC setting shown on 724-10-01 of xxxx xxx3 turns off the oil minder that is currently active on my truck with 0B18 0065 00C0. Should mine be xxxx xxx7? I included all my as-built entry's with the change circled.

For your first post: Are you referring to the forscan pop up for check sum error that says write yes or no?

Second question: yes 7 appears to be the correct value based on your OEM as-built.

I will take a look at your as-built once I get back to my computer.

Yes I get the checksum error on several different items that I try and change in Forscan when I click on write all.

I generally recommend writing a block of lines at a time vs. the write all function, but the forscan check sum warning is completely normal in any case. Click yes and forscan automatically changes them to the correct values.

@Paul Neubauer I took a look at your as-built and there are no differences in them vs. other trucks with the exception of IPC 720–10-01.

The SCCM values are identical. I would recommend trying again, but only writing one block of lines at a time instead of using write all. Click yes when the check sum warning appears. At this point I’m wondering if the write all caused some type of error that triggered the DTC.

I only have the option to use the Write All button for the entry's because their is not a Write button next to any of the ones I need to change.

wait, is the write button below each group the one to use? I may have been confusing that for only being used for that single line only.

Yes use the write button at the end of group that you are making the change in. That will write the lines above the button as well. 01-01 thru 01-04 would write by using the write button next to 01-04.

Seems to be working now and error free. Appreciate the help! This stuff is a little confusing.

Plugged in Forscan to make sure everything was ok after the ota updates and found new DTC codes. Anyone know what this truck is unhappy about? Everything seems to be working fine other than these codes.

Most likely it’s a spurious DTC as a result of the modules resetting after the OTA. I would clear it and see if it comes back before doing anything else. It’s not uncommon to find random DTCs on these trucks when you run a scan, particularly after updates (manual or OTA).

Sounds good. I had a random seat module DTC also that I cleared. I will check again next weekend. Love the glare free headlights and don't want to go back to the old ways due to problems. I wonder what Ford would do if you wanted a problem fixed with the glare free in Texas.

Yeah agreed on the DTC’s. I get random ones all the time that never stick around.

The only one I have that is persistent is the U2400, Ethernet failure with gateway module A, (GWM). It also says it’s for image processing module A.

Whatever that is.

They won’t know the difference if you go in for repair, but they may also not be familiar with glare free specifically. The truck reports it’s as-built to ford server, if they had to replace a HCM for example, the glare free would automatically be written by FDRS during module configuration.

Wanted to make a post in here just so others have a frame of reference for build dates and Glare Free equipped trucks.

I recently bought a 502a equipped Lariat here in Texas with a confirmed build date of 7/21/22 and after going for a test drive tonight post-Forscan I have validated I have 0 DTCs and a fully functioning Glare Free setup!

After reading that some trucks with later build dates might not be equipped for GF I was bummed but I can confirm I DO have everything currently working even with such a recent build date.

Big thanks to everyone who has shared their knowledge in this thread, this has to be one of my favorite new features on the truck, makes driving at night so much easier on my eyes and I feel way more confident driving at night as a result.

For informational purposes do you have your window sticker? I'm curious how Ford described the headlights that would be in your truck. Seems they have many different ways to describe what is included and to know which setup really has the Glare Free option.

For informational purposes, so far it seems all of the 2022 Lightnings are able to enable Glare Free as well. The description on the sticker is:
"LED PROJECTOR W/ DYNAMIC BENDING HEADLAMPS"

Maybe they truly have multiple setups that can enable Glare Free.
