I was finally able to test this on my 22 Powerboost 502A this weekend on some rural Oregon highways late at night. While I was impressed with the glare free feature combined with the turning headlights on the curvy roads, I couldn't really tell much difference on the straight sections. With cars in the distance it seemed to turn the high beams completely off and not light up the right side any better, leaving a big gap of dark between me and the oncoming or leading car. One that I would have expected to be lit up with the high beams. I did like the fade back on as the car passed though.

On the corners I could certainly see the lights "bend" and whenever there was an oncoming car I could see it dim selectively. It seems like there were maybe 3 or 4 "zones" that it could dim rather than a more continuous flow accounting for the cars position.

Is this everyone else's experience, especially on long straight sections or am I missing something?

Pretty much my experience as well. They still do ok on straight stretches, but work best on curvy roads, even a slight bend makes a big difference. I think because they only have so many "zones" available for dimming, it has to turn everything down for straight on traffic to avoid blinding the incoming driver with a margin for error.

Just looking at the HCM OEM as-built values you posted, there are some significant differences between yours and the expected values for a ICE F-150. You have a lot of undefined positions or values that do not seem to make sense based on the current forscan spread sheet translation. That would lead me to believe there are some significant software differences. Any suggestions I might make for your truck would be based on the potentially incorrect assumption that the as-built is functioning exactly the same as a normal ICE F150.

@Livnitup any plans on a Lightning specific as-built translation in the works?

I was able to enable the glare free headlights using your tips and by looking at the HCM configuration of the Canadian builds. Thanks!

For those that are just trying this, what is your build date. I am reading Somewhere in the 5/?/2022 (or until parts run out) they removed this option from Non US trucks, so if you think its working correct, what is your build date?

Hi there - vandy1981 and I were comparing notes. We both have Lariat ER 2022 F-150 Lightnings, but interestingly enough, our as-built configurations are different for the HCM.

Here's the FORscan HCM configuration changes applied for the glare-free headlights:

HCM734-01-01xxxxxxx0xx--
HCM734-01-02xxxxx2xxxx--
HCM734-11-01073589

After applying the HCM configuration that he is using, here are the differences in his modules vs. mine:

Code:
             He-has I-have
734-03-02 111E 1801 0189 111E 1801 0088
734-12-01 3146 5436 57A6 3146 5456 57C6
734-12-02 3145 5658 4EC1 3145 5638 4EA1
734-12-03 5747 3034 3587 5747 3038 378D
734-12-04 3438 BD 3535 BB
These differences are causing my truck to throw an MIL DTC for bad checksum on the HCM:

Code: U3000 - Control Module

Additional Fault Symptom:
- General Checksum Failure

Status:
- DTC Present at Time of Request
- Malfunction Indicator Lamp is On for this DTC

Module: Headlamp Control Module
His truck was built 5/5/22, mine 6/23/22. I looked at the mapping spreadsheet but it only addresses the 734-01 and 734-02 entries...

If I use his entire configuration on my truck, everything seems to work fine, but then I'm curious as to what the differences are.

Can anyone help identify the differences between his HCM configuration and mine? And what would be the proper fix to clear the checksum problem?

its in this thread, back around page 17 -20 or or so there was talk about this being discontinued in Canada on 2022 job 2 trucks (since USA don't even have it we did not see the discontinued notice).

I "think" mine works on my 5/11/22 build, but I don't ever drive at night so its hard to say. I have had it out 2x at night, once to test it after doing mod and it was not fully dark yet), than once a couple weeks ago when I was in PA, but that was in a place where there was always street lights and traffic.

I am currently shopping my area for a '21 or '22 F150 Lariat. I am really interested in this feature so I want to make sure I purchase a vehicle with the correct options. Does this work with the LED Headlights that are standard on the Lariat, or do I have to get the projector headlights? Thanks very much for the assistance and I hope to soon be a proper member of this community with my very own '22 Lariat.

This is definitely on my list of modifications to try. Now all I need to do is get a new computer and my truck.

I changed everything as show on page 1 and there are problems. A couple of the changes give me checksum errors when I write the HCM and SCCM MODULES. I am able to get the glare free option in Sync and the green headlight icon but the SCCM is throwing codes. If I revert everything back to the original as builds the codes go away

My truck is a diesel if that might change any options. The IPC setting shown on 724-10-01 of xxxx xxx3 turns off the oil minder that is currently active on my truck with 0B18 0065 00C0. Should mine be xxxx xxx7? I included all my as-built entry's with the change circled.
